We seem to be about two weeks behind the famous wildflowers of Western Australia. We see pictures of these massive fields of colorful flowers, but so far none of those have presented themselves to us in person. American friends of ours, who traveled Australia 14 years ago as we are, stayed at Western Flora Caravan and Tourist Park along the Brand Highway north of Eneabba between Geraldton and Perth. Dec 27, 2011 - South To Cooler Climes

Tues. Dec. 27 Heading south because our initial plan of traveling further north to Exmouth the temperature prediction was 48 degrees! Cervantes had a camping space for us so back we went. Al fought the wind against the camper van on the highway all day but it became stronger as the day progressed. Returning the same route back towards Perth allowed us to stop at Hutton Lagoon for more exploration of the pink lake.
