Sep 5, 2010 - Day 70 - Newman - Father's Day

Newman, Sunday 5th Sept - Father's Day - 2 days until RJay turns 3 and only 5 more sleeps before we head off. Has been a great break here - weather has been very kind, despite the 4 days of cool and damp, as it has not got very hot at all, so can spend most of the day outside with RJay. We leave here on Friday heading north to Port Hedland to collect Kath, and then begins our southward journey ending back at home on 19th. Still have a crook knee, causing me some problems - guess it will have to be looked at once we are home again...... What...

Fourth day of very cool temps with the past 3 days steady drizzle!! Back in trackies and sleeved shirts!! Knee still 'dicky' but am an a course of some sort of tabs for the inflammation of the knee joint, so will get a repeat and see how it goes. Hope the heat returns soon!! Aug 14, 2010 - Days 47 - 74 - Newman

Day 48 - RJay has grown even taller in the couple of months since we saw him last - talking really well and happy to stay home with me while Ken and Pete hit the Race track in preparation for their big day on Monday and Sharon is at work until 1300. We are then heading to the Cappy for lunch as Ken has a friend coming to watch the footy - and we are told he is even more feral than Ken, watching his team - so we are OUT of here for a few hours!! Will do occasional cath-ups over the next 4 weeks.

Jul 7, 2010 - BHP mine:(

JD "Dear Dumb Diary, Today we saw some Aboriginal artwork. It was amazing! We also landed in Minjina. Minjina is the town before Karijini National Park. The title for the game we are playing for the points is ‘The Clash Of The Titans’ ‘cause Dumb Diary Koios means titan. So basically my name is Jesus, because Jesus is the short name for Joshua, Beloved Of God, because David means beloved of god, Faithful, because Fedele means faithful in Italian, Titan, because Koios means titan. I’m a titan! That is all so, Later, Dumb Diary." JOEL...

Jul 6, 2010 - "Hello NEWMAN!!!!"

Just a Lazy 460 odd Kilometre drive today. We left Meeka Caravan park hoping to find the Tourist bureau. After driving 200 metres up the main road and not seeing it, as well as running out of town, we thought that there probably was not a lot to see of Meeka so we decide to continue on our journey. We drove to Kumarina Roadhouse. It is famous for its Bob Pies and country hospitality. Bob was "breaking in" a new staff member by showing them the ropes of the fuel machine and taking orders. It didn't seem as though Bob thought she was...

Jul 7, 2009 - Tuesday 7th July

July 7th A better night for sleeping although we weren’t far from the road so the occasional truck did whiz past during the night. There were probably ½ a dozen other vans around us in the bush and I was aware of a generator running somewhere but it was too far away to be a nuisance. Terri was up early with the video camera filming the morning birds waking their mates up. I got up and had me weetbix n muesli about 7 and then just started wandering around packing stuff away……the shower tent was still damp as was the camper tent but dry...

Jan 17, 2005 - Karijini National Park

Hey all, Well right now I am sitting in a gas station in a small mining town called Newman. It is so funny here... picture the trailer park boys with Australian accents... really interesting to say the least. Anyway the past couple of days I have been camping in Karijini National Park. We started off on Saturday morning with a new tour guide named Blair... I hated him from the start. I think he took every moment to insult almost everyone on the bus. He thought I was an american sority girl!! WHAT!! Anyway I explained to most of the bus...
