Oct 21, 2013 - Perth to Kirkalocka to Karalundi

Day 1 Perth to Kirkalocka Quite a relaxed morning finishing packing, and ready to leave hit the road just after 10:00. Before we had even reached Muchea, we had to pull off the road to allow 2 enormous trucks to pass. Hope there is not too many more of them along the way...The drive was very relaxing. Mike enjoyed using the walkie talkies to talk to the truck drivers. The first truck he spoke to and passed he was like a little kid & wanted to pull over to allow them past again, so he could talk to them again...Boys... We ended up sitting...

Sep 29, 2012 - Heading north to Mount Magnet

We left Morowa early - nice caravan park and friendly caravanners. The first stop on the trip north was the once small township of Canna. It was also the site of the large railway village which houses the men who are laying a new track for the mining. We then drove on to Mellewa - there were lots of pink and white everlasting flowers in bloom. At Mullewa we stopped at Church of Our Lady of Mt Carmel and Saints Peter and...

Jul 5, 2010 - Mt Magnet - Day 8

644 kms today - our longest day trip to date...... We left Anne's at 0725 and Pedro retraced our route of yesterday's outing, back to Menzies, then continued on to Leonora, where we changed drivers after 2+1/2 hours. I did my 2+1/2,( through Leinster then westwards,) which placed us in Sandstone, literally in the middle of nowhere. We went into the pub to have a bite of lunch before Pedro drove us the final 160kms to Mt Magnet. We pulled in to Outback Gold at 1515 so almost 8 hours on the road! Josh actually stayed awake after Sandstone and...
