Read and rate Travel Journal Entries for Lancelin, Western Australia, Australia

Jul 5, 2018 - Kalbarri to Perth

We are now back in Perth, both the beginning and end of our journey. We’ve loved Western Australia (WA), but it’s big. In fact, the UK fits into WA 11 times! This means there was a lot of driving between places, especially in the final few days. What was interesting as we travelled south was to see the changes in the environment. It gradually gets greener, colder and more populated. It seemed to be preparing us for ‘re-entry’ as we both started to think about life at home.

Jan 24, 2007 - Surfin' Safari

The next day, I called Neil, he picked me up, gave me a brief driving tour of Perth..downtown, King's Park overlooking the riverfront and city, Scarborough Beach...and then took me to their home. I spent the next few days recouperating and getting back on my feet. Reilly on the Road

Nov 9, 2006 - Lancelin - seaside village & sandboarding

Every second shop has boards for hire and Soli is beside himself with excitement, waiting to carve up his first dune. The backdrop of the town is one huge range of moving dunes, quite spectacular. We pull into a local van park, which is 95% permanent vans - not a good sign until we realize that they are holiday vans & mostly empty. Some research uncovers they cost 2k p.a. for a van with...

Brown's Oz Trek

Feb 21, 2006 - WA: Up to Lancelin & back for the Force

The car is still in the shop and will be for the foreseeable future, so we have to find something to do to amuse ourselves. It's in the mid 30s and sticky, so after a swim at Scarborough Beach we figure it's time to head out of town again. Blake is a gem and lends us his car, the Red Rocket. It's an 80s vintage Laser and while it has no stereo and very uncomfortable seats, it's better than the Rig in that it actually has an engine installed. We head up to Lancelin, a couple of hours north of Perth. It's on the coast and a mecca for...
