Sep 2, 2015 - Lake Brockman

Wednesday 2 September 2015 Our last day in our bush camp and we have all survived the experience, not that we have spent much time here. Probably was a bit warmer night, but it was a repeat of yesterday's weather where the day did not warm up very much at all. Set off for Collie to the south east, and we were all amazed at the fantastic road. We figured that seeing Collie is a mining town, lots of dollars have been spent on the roads or else a politician lives out that way! Collie is a very spread out town, but boasts the Golden Arches,...

Sep 1, 2015 - Lake Brockman

Tuesday 1 September 2015 The best laid plans can sometimes go astray, which is what seemed to happen today. It was a cold night, no rain, and a lovely sunny day that never warmed up. Our first stop was at Yarloop to visit the Historical and Steam Workshops Museum. Arrived to find the power company putting in new power poles, so yes, the museum was closed. Had a nice chat to the stop/go people who were waiting for the power lot to finish smoko! Took the Old Coast Road to Mandurah, and could hardly believe the development that has happened...

Aug 31, 2015 - Lake Brockman

Monday 31 August 2015 A nice start to the day with a birthday for Mavis. After a few night showers, the day was looking good. We had a little get together before we left for birthday greetings. John had chosen a great gift for Mavis in Denmark and had it gift wrapped. He decided it would best if we were all together when he gave it to her, and of course he told her it was a gift from all the men! That's how one saves face!! The photo will tell you how excited she was. After a chat and a good laugh, we set off on a course plotted by Mavis...

Aug 30, 2015 - Lake Brockman

Sunday 30 August 2015 Enjoyed a quiet and restful day at Lake Brockman. After a night of rain, the morning once again greeted us with blue sky and sunshine. A slow start to the day. Found out John had some wet spots in his van after the wet drive yesterday. Our small heater managed to fix that during the day and after investigation, found their front window above his bed was not shut properly. As they hadn't opened that window, it has obviously always been open! Shows they have not done too much wet camping. All fixed now. Went for a walk...

Aug 29, 2015 - Lake Brockman (Nth of Harvey)

Saturday 29 August 2015 After perfect weather in Margaret River, the showers decided to return this morning to make our pack up interesting. Enjoyed our farm stay very very much, and very happy that the caravanning is taking off for them in quite a big way. Pete & Megan are working very hard while her parents are away with the animal side of things and a developing tourist trade. Because we had thought of doing a detour through Busselton, Dot & Gary left before us to make their own way. They will be visiting Dot's brother in Busselton in...
