After the crowded clamour of Parry’s Beach, we were ready for some serenity and solitude. We had scoured our ‘Camping in Australia’ book and found a campsite at Moon’s Crossing, a river crossing on a big river that I can’t quite remember the name of. Best of all, it was free! We arrived in the early afternoon, only to discover that the river crossing was dry, being summer, and that there was to be no excitement of a four-wheel-drive nature.
