We're pretty excited to be heading across the fabled Nullabor, even though we've been warned that it is flat and monotonous. They're certainly not joking about no trees -- it's an interesting feeling being surrounded by all that flatness. The trip across the Nullabor is long, straight and interspersed by the odd petrol station and tiny town. Nixes On Tour

Oct 3, 2005 - Eucla (05/07/05 - 06/07/05)

Something of a staging post for the Nullabor drive. And consisting not of a town, but a Roadhouse and a campsite. A bargain rate of $3 but for your money, all you got was a patch of gravel. Showers were an extra $2. What you got for free was the worst service I think I ever had whilst in Australia. Rude, abrupt and disinterested. Worse, I had to stand around and wait first. If places like this weren't the only place around, they'd go broke in a flash. As it is, they are the only rest stop on the Highway and by hell, they know it. After...
