Thursday Oct 15th Woke early (as usual), fairly nippy morning, clear skies. Out of bed about 6.45 and closed up the C/T, Sedge poked his head over the fence as we were doing this so it’s time for breakfast. Enjoyed breakfast on the back verandah in the morning sun…not bad after the previous 6 days of heatwave in Perth. Said our goodbyes and jumped in the car, the C/T wasn’t unhooked so just a matter of driving away and on the road. Must say here that we’ve had a change of plans…won’t be the last time this happens….all part of the fun of...

Oct 14, 2015 - Wednesday Oct 14th

Wednesday Oct 14th Yesterday (Tuesday 13th) Matt and Lee arrived within a couple of hours of each other, Lee drove from northern NSW and Matt flew from Airlie Beach with 2 year old Owen. A nice reunion for Terri and plenty of room in our deluxe cabin for everyone. Grandma Terri was in heaven with her little grandson. Today Terris brother Jim arrived with Dad Bruce so we now had 4 generations of the West clan. Lots of catching up with everyone and time just passed so quickly….Matt had to drive to Denmark and Lee had a plane to catch to...

Oct 5, 2012 - Wheat and sheep country

A quick drive around Southern Cross which has a very impressive sporting and recreational centre/area which is quite new before we headed west towards Merredin. Our first stop was Westonia, 10kms off the main highway about half way between Southern Cross and Merredin. This is a very nice little town which has only a couple of shops/taverns in operation.
