Apr 7, 2020 - Day 13 at Home

Tuesday Awoke at 6.40 this morning for some reason, a little earlier than normal. Usual routing, get the paper for John from the front lawn, make a coffee and toast for us all and back to bed to watch or listen to Sunrise as John reads the paper and I play some Cookie Jam. Of course the doggies had their breakfast as well. Both seem to be enjoying their chicken, rice and veges with a can of their canned food mixed in as well. Dexter in particular scoffs it down so I don't have to worry about hiding his epilepsy pills or Panadol in...

Apr 6, 2020 - Day 12 at Home

Monday Wow, I woke before even the dogs woke this morning. Dexter was still curled up tight in his beanbag next to me and Maisy in her usual spot as Daddy's little wingman. Made our coffees, mushrooms on toast for John and toast for myself then back to bed for a while to catch up on overnight news and the continuing trainwreck of the Ruby Princess cruise ship. Played a couple of levels of Cookie Jam before hitting the shower. Looks like it is going to rain out there again so it was off down to Peregrine park to walk the mutts for the...

Apr 5, 2020 - Day 11 at Home

Sunday Daylight savings ended overnight. Woke and looked at my fitbit showing it was 6.52am. Didn't twig that it would have turned back at 2.00am so was thinking it was only 5.52 and rolled over in an attempt to go back to sleep. Didn't work so turned on the teev expecting some American morning show and surprised that Morning Sunrise was on. It was only then we both figured out that it was actually after 7.00am. Bit slow on it these days. Therefore thought it best to get up and get our coffee and toast. Bit chilly this morning with the wind...

Apr 4, 2020 - Day 10 at Home

Saturday Groundhog Day ahhhhhh! 7.30 my Dexter alarm goes off next to me with a scratch of the bed frame for a pat on the head. Least it wasn't yesterday's rude awakening. Good morning Dexter, yes I know you are very excited about the prospect of chicken, veges and rice for breakfast. Even able to hide his pills (epilepsy and paracetamol) in the food and he eats it all up this morning. Score!!!! Got up a little earlier than normal this morning as it will be a big surprise for the doggies this morning. It is Simone Day. Simone is our dog...

Apr 3, 2020 - Day 9 at Home

Friday What a shite night's sleep for me. After I watch the Tacoma FD episode turned out the light and just layed there. Usually have no problems going to sleep once I slip on the CPAP mask but not tonight. Back sore in the sacral joints and aching. First time I checked the fitbit it was 12.47. Lay there a bit longer thinking of pleasant things (Sam Heughan - aka Jamie Fraser of Outlander) joking of course! Around 2am still wide awake and John stirred when I was fishing around in bedside table drawer for some pain relief and he turned the...

Apr 2, 2020 - Day 8 at Home

Thursday A little different start to the morning this morning and I should have been prepared for it. The doggies have been off their meals (all poultry based cans) so I bought a can of something different down at the supermarket when there yesterday. Well this morning I was awoken by the most dreadful smell emanating from the floor next to my side of the bed. Dexter was laying on the floor right next to my side of the bed with his rear end nearest to my head. Now I tell you, I do not love the smell of Pal farts first thing in the morning,...

Apr 1, 2020 - Day 7 at Home

Wednesday Woke at 7.30 and you know the routine from here. A little different this morning as the pups were barking like crazy out the sideway near the cars. Mischa the cat was in the tiki bar so it wasn't him they were barking at and JD from over the back is always on our garden shed roof so not him. Went out to get the paper (with disinfectant cloth to wipe it of course) and had a look under Megzy's car to see a pretty fluffy cat I have never seen before. Had the colourings of a siamese but was fluffy. He/she was only a matter of feet...

Mar 31, 2020 - Day 6 at Home

Tuesday Starting to feel a little like I am starring in Groundhog Day here. Usual routine, say goodmorning puppies on the bed, goodmorning John, how are your wrist, ankle, hip, head, shoulders etc. etc. And you? Yes dear, I am awake so that is always I bonus I guess. Reach over and turn on the TV to get any further updates. Bit heartening to hear Victoria had a minute decrease in Covid numbers overnight but hey won't pull out the party poppers just yet. Get up, feed the puppies and assure them we will be going for a walk shortly. Back to...

Mar 30, 2020 - Day 5 at Home (well almost)

Monday Another broken night last night although John only woke me up once. He had a little better night. Up around 9am again ready to take the furkids for their morning walk. Decided to do Liberty Avenue Reserve today in the hope that Maisy may see a duck after the rains last night. She just loves ducks for some reason. She can see any other bird and ignores them but she just has to run after ducks. No luck today and a few people all nicely socially distanced. Didn't take my phone/camera today but it was funny to see the half a dozen cars...

Mar 29, 2020 - Day 4 at Home

John still having broken sleep because of pain in his wrist and hip. New medication not knocking him out like it is supposed to. Woke around my new normal time of 7.30 am to a warm Sunday morning. Coffee and toast with cheese and tomato this morning as still a little full from pizza last night (naughty us). Walked the puppies down at Peregrine Reserve again. Thankfully not as many people around as yesterday as it is a little overcast. Rain and hail expected later today. The puppies enjoyed their walk. Was heartening to see kids have been...

Mar 28, 2020 - Day 3 at Home

Gosh 3 days already. Time certainly flies when you are having fun. One thing about this holiday, nobody knows when it is going to end!!!!!! Lazy old buggars this morning as it was around 9.30 when we hauled our butts out of the comfort of our Sleeping Duck mattress (give them a plug while we can - the best $1200 we have ever spent with exceptional service). Brekky in bed again of coffee and banana on toast courtesy of moi. Showered and dressed and time for another coffee before embarking on the much awaited walk for the puppies. Off to...

Mar 27, 2020 - Day 2 at Home

Well poor John had a dreadful night with the new pills not seeming to do much at all. Has trouble finding a comfortable position to sleep in what with wrist, ankle, ribs and last year's replaced hip. Maybe he should hang from the doorframe like a bat! Must admit to waking up myself quite frequently. The only ones seeming to sleep were Maisy and Dexter who spent the night blissfully snoring away. Dragged ourselves out of bed around 9am and socially distanced ourselves in the shower, John in one corner and me in the other!!!! What the heck we...
