Nov 30, 2017 - Day 6 Rest Day Paynesville

Day Description A elaxinf day mostly at the house. I got up after 9am. Washed clothes and bike! BBQ egg and bacon lunch then some of us rode into the camp to leave our bikes thee and this reduce the stress of a very long ride in the morning. Norm collected us and we returned to the house for some alcohol and a yummy BBQ dinner. Distance 16 KM Weather Hot. Very hot! Lunch Egg and bacon sandwiches Dinner BBQ , salad, baked potatoes , fruit salad Entertainment We all entertained each other !'

Nov 29, 2017 - Day 5 Seaspray to Bairnsdale/Paynesville

Day Description Started the day in the usual way. Alarm 4:30am. Dress in a tent that is half my height. Pack up bedding. Pack clothes. Walk across camp to catering marquee for breakfast which opens for us (ahead of the event riders) at 5:30am. Collect fruit and snack for morning tea. Wash breakfast plates. Go to toilet on way back to tent. Clean teeth. Pack toiletries into bags. Remove bike lock from bike. Put in bag. Walk to area where volunteers' bag truck is to leave bags. Walk back to tent to collect bike. Go to exit gate to start ride....

Jan 30, 2017 - Paynesville

As today promised to be quite warm, the first job after breakfast was to give the dogs a long overdue bath. Once they had been washed we took them for the same walk as yesterday afternoon which was basically ‘around the block’ with one section being along the lake. The lake was very calm this morning- ideal for the water skiers that were out and about. Back at the van, Ian decided to give his new rod a test run and drove out to the Silt jetties again for a spot of fishing while I caught up on my journal and did a bit of reading. The...

Jan 29, 2017 - Paynesville

The plan for this morning was to meet Geoff and Di for brunch before they headed back to Pakenham. Before meeting up with them, Ian and I took the dogs for a walk around the block then put them back in their crates (they had not made a sound yesterday whilst we had been away) and went back down to the waterfront for brunch. Once again, it was a beautiful day and you couldn’t ask for anything better than having a late breakfast watching the boats go up and down the waterway. Jan 28, 2017 - Rosedale to Pakenham

After managing to get some sleep despite the rumble of the odd truck passing by during the night, we were packed up and on the road quite early by our standards at 9.30am. We drove directly through to Paynesville where we had booked ourselves into Resthaven caravan park. While setting up, I sent a text to Geoff letting him know that we had arrived and from there arranged to meet them down on the waterfront in Paynesville for a coffee.
