Apr 23, 2012 - Our first day
23/03/2012 Last of the packing done early Monday morning and on the road at 10:30 am. Drove through Lot's of heavy rain on the way, when we got to Bonnie Doon we were amazed at the water level of Eildon Weir, it was as high as we have ever seen it. We decided to free camp at Oxley rather than arrive in Mount Beauty late afternoon, found a good spot at the local recreation reserve and had a good nights sleep. Now about to continue on to Mount Beauty. 24/03/2012 Mount Beauty is just as lovely as ever, the autumn colours are spectacular. We...

Jun 26, 2011 - Our trip to home
We commenced our trip Friday, leaving the Hotel at Budapest 0530hrs - very early! First flight was to Frankfurt, Germany - going the wrong way we thought, yes, thats right but we needed to go to a big international airport to leave the EU (European Union) area. Jul 22, 2009 - Home to Mount Beauty
Today was our 78th day on the road. It was time to return home, back to Mount Beauty. We left Clifton Springs, near Geelong, with sunshine and the forecast of a windy day, and showers expected in the afternoon. We said goodbye to our middle daughter Sarah after having morning tea with her at Geelong, and then drove up to the City of Melbourne. It took an hour travelling along the freeway from Geelong to Melbourne. We had to cross over the Westgate bridge before entering the tunnel to go from one side of the city to the other - amazing how...

May 6, 2009 - We left home today
Today was the 1st day of our new adventure, and we finally left the Kiewa valley, leaving behind those beautifully snow capped mountains. We had a couple of things to do in Albury, so we drove north, completed our chores, and then turned left to follow the Murray river along to our first destination -> a motel at Moama. Well, we have now entered into a new phase of the feeling of 'being on holidays'. Tonight we are going to work out some more of our itinerary, so I guess you will just have to wait and see where we get to next.
