Jan 28, 2012 - A busy week back in Melbourne
It has been lovely to see KT and Andy and be back to a base again. It has been much warmer all week in Melbourne than it was in Tasmania but it has not reached the dizzy heights of 40 degrees as it did the first week of January before we went to Tasmania. Andy's parents arrived last weekend too so after a couple of days relaxing and getting washing sorted etc we have been busy. On Tuesday evening we all went into Melbourne for a Chinese banquet as it was the Chinese New year. It was a lovely 8 course seafood meal with entertainment. It is...

Jan 25, 2012 - My friend Augie
Yesterday I played with Augie. It was really really fun. Augie is awesome, she's really neat. She laughs a lot, she's funny. I like her. She is five and three-quarters. She lives around the corner. Her house is fun, it's kind of like a maze to me cause I'm not really used to it yet. She lives with her mom, her dad and her uncle. In the morning I went to the park with Augie, it was fun. We played on the bouncy boat, it's a wooden boat that's on springs. Then we went to my house to get lunch. After that we dropped Augie off at her house. I...

Jan 24, 2012 - The Melbourne Museum
Today we woke up and took a walk to find a tennis court. Instead we found the melbourne museum. We bought tickets and went in. The museum had exhibits on the brain, the history of melbourne and one on evolution. First we went to the exhibit on melbourne history. There were parts on old neighborhoods and parts on modern melbourne, but the most interesting part was about a famous racehorse called Phar lap. Phar lap was the greatest racehorse in all the world in the 1900s. He had beaten all the horses in Australia so he went to America and...

Jan 24, 2012 - Going to the Fitzroy Garden
We walked to Fitzroy Garden. We got lost there. We thought we would be able to go play tennis. But it turned out the place we thought we would be playing tennis at was the Australian Open place so we couldn't play. The garden was fun. We went to the conservatory, we saw lots of flowers and trees.

Jan 24, 2012 - When I went to the Melbourne Museum
We went to a park by bike. It was fun because it was effort, because we had to climb up all those hills. We found out that the Melbourne Museum was there so my mom went to the grocery store and we went to have lunch in the Melbourne Museum, then we looked around. It was really fun. I liked the outside part, it was a bunch of trees and animals. Then we went home and after we had lunch we went to my friend Augie's. She lives around the corner. And we invited Augie over for dinner, and her parents came too.

Today Me and my family went to Fitzroy Gardens. We went because we wanted to play tennis. When we looked on the map we saw a tennis racket and a ball so we thought that it meant that there were public tennis courts. But when we got there we realized that it meant the Australian open. Then when we walked home we went over to frannie's new friends house

Jan 22, 2012 - Happy as a clam
Isn’t it amazing that I’ve almost been here for 4 months, yet I feel that I’m just starting out my year abroad. I’ve learnt so much about myself in these months of constant transitions, which makes me excited to know myself when my time is up overseas. Not that the start of my wanderluster adventure was negative, more so challenging which has brought to me here, living by the ocean happy as a clam. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but my new years resolution this year was to be more selfish. I realize that sometimes I’m too much of a...

Jan 20, 2012 - The Australian open
When we woke up today my parents told us that we could go to the australian open. So, we walked to the train station and bought met cards. We took the train to Jolimont station and walked to the National Tennis Center. We bought passes and watched two matches. One men's doubles match, one women's singles match. We also watched Rafael Nadal on the big screen. Then we bought way overpriced australian open souvenirs, and took the train home.
