Mar 8, 2005 - Adelaide to Melbourne via Kangaroo Island - The Great Ocean Road

We got back into Adelaide around 8pm and after a few hours sleep left for Melbourne on the Groovy Grape bus. ... Flying 90 degrees to the horizon was pretty cool! We arrived in Melbourne Friday night, utterly exhausted after a totally satisfying last day in Sydney (zoo for Susan, shopping for Cath). ... Mar 5, 2005 - The 'Needham/Jackson' tour cont - Perth, Melbourne + Great Ocean Road

But we each had a bike this time, no tandems, once was enough!! From Perth we then flew onto Melbourne for a couple of days before heading down to do the Great Ocean Road. ... In Melbourne we met up with my Aunt and Uncle who happened to be visiting some friends and were then heading up north to Darwin. ... It's so bizarre that you can be on the other side of the world and still meet up with friends!! We couldn't have chosen a busier time to be in Melbourne though, Grand Prix weekend!! The first day we walked into town and wondered what was going on and were informed that a parade was happening that morning for the Grand Prix so some roads were being blocked off for the drivers to drive along. ... Back to Melbourne now where I have to embark on finding a job, the money has now run out and I'm not sure how much more bashing the credit cards can take, whilst Mum and Peter fly onto Sydney and then back to the UK next week. ...

G'Day all! Had a few photos left from the Gold Coast so included them here! Enjoy! Got into Melbourne on Wednesday arvo (that's afternoon in Aussie to all you Canucks) without too many problems. ... They're all in their early 20s but I've decided that I'm only 25 in Australian years, so we all got along well! Staying at Steph's place while in Melbourne - her Mom and her husband Graeme are amazing and Steph's 2 little brothers Connor (3) and Lachlan aka Lachie (10 mos) were just gorgeous! Felt so welcomed and nice to have a family and home-cooked meals for a change. ... Spent Thursday recovering and shopping with the girls and Friday touring around downtown Melbourne. ... 15-02-05 Leaving Albury on the Greyhound at 1pm, this is our last bus journey in Austalia as the ticket takes us to Melbourne where we are set to make a welcome visit to Derek's friends from Glasgow, Joe and Colette. ... We wandered through Melbournes main shopping area for a bit then hunted down the Rialto building on Collins Street for a quick trip up to the observation deck of Melbournes tallest building. ...
