Today we got up and went for a walk down the beach. The beach went on for miles and miles. There were about ten people on the beach. We laid in the water and sunned ourselves. As we walked along the beach we noticed something in the water.. it was an octopus. It was about 18" long. By the time we figured out it was there we were to late to get a photo. On the way back we watched some fishermen. One of them had a big catch so we waited while he brought it in. It turned out to be about a 5' stingray. He had a fight on his hands. The hook let...

Feb 4, 2009 - Lucky Meeting
We went for a run down the beach on the Tasman Sea. We then went for a tour at the Bega Cheese Factory. We had lunch out on the deck over looking the land. For lunch we had a platter for two. The platter had meat, fruit, vegetables, crackers, spread and yes, cheese. We bought some cheese and jam for the road and we were on our way. On the way we stopped for a break at a road side rest area. We chatted up a couple at the stop. They had just returned from their summer place in Mallacoota. Dec 7, 2005 - Vic: Across the border to Mallacoota
Waking up at Fishery Beach is rough - our over-excitement at being on the road again, coupled with the previous evening's ill-timed experiment into cask wine has meant that we're feeling a lot less perky than is preferable. Luckily the water is right by us and beautifully warm, so a restorative dip is in order. We're determined to cross the border and decide to not be too ambitious, so we make Mallacoota for the evening, which is pretty much the first town on the coast once you cross the border and a fairly easy drive.
