Dec 1, 2018 - Day 8 Yarrawonga to Glenrowan

Highlights Today’s riding was mostly flat across open plains – much appreciated by my tired legs as we approached the end of nine days of riding. My marshalling was at an intersection with a main road. The wheat countryside was lovely in the early morning light. Rode out with Bazza most of the way then he went on. We had traffic control and police for awhile, to help us. By the time I left my post with 60kms to go, it had become quite hot. 22/4 As this is an area we have not been to before it was new for Peter as well we decided to go off the freeway and have a drive through the town we came to. Benalla is a very pretty little place one we would like to come back to. Morning tea was at Glenrowan "Ned Kelley's country.As you can guess everything was about Ned. We didn't go into Wangaratta as we had been there same with Albury Wodonga. Our next stop was Gundagai. Apr 4, 2014 - Part 2

04/4 – Excited again that we are beginning our trip again, We fly back with Jetstar and Nina dropped us off this morning to T2 as mentioned on the E-ticket. Not finding our flight on the screen we asked at the desk and were advised that Qantas has been making the same mistake all week and we had to go to T4. So off we go in search of the bus that takes us there, luckily it goes every 15 mins. Boarded the Jetstar flight and squashed ourselves into the smallest area imaginable. While we were on history, we decided to take a day trip to Glenwroan and introduce the kids to the famous Australian outlaw, Ned Kelly. Yes, he really was larger than life.

Aug 31, 2008 - August 31 2008

31 August 2008 The next day we travelled to Beechworth. Beechworth is in Kelly Country and where Ned Kelly was sentenced to death. We went to the cheese factory and the chocolate shop and had a look at the burke museum and courthouse where Ned Kelly stood trial and was sentenced to death. While we were coming back to the caravan park there was a big storm and a big tree fell down at the caravan park.

30 August 2008 The next day we travelled over the border of N.S.W and V.I.C to Glenrowan. Glenrowan is in Kelly Country and was where the gun fight at the inn happened, where Ned Kelly’s pistol was found, where the inn was burnt down and where Ned Kelly was captured. We watched a walk through animation about Ned Kelly which was weird then went on a walking tour through the siege at the inn to where Ned Kelly was captured.
