Feb 26, 2013 - Daylesford

We learnt of Daylesford from a local in Byron Bay - she recommended it as a nice way to end the great ocean road, as it is known for its natural springs and spas. Unfortunately, the main place with all of the natural pools outside was closed for renovations, but we did get to check out another bathouse in Hepburn Springs (right beside Daylesford). We spent the morning here swimming in their bath pools and getting a massage, it was a great way to start the day, especially since it was raining outside. And by the time we finished inside, the...

Engagement honeymoon

Jun 6, 2011 - Brrrrrrrrr

Hey, The long awaited girly weekend has finished. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend. Possum Cottage was perfect, warm and cosy. There was lots of chat and laughter, sitting around in pj's and eating. Barry joined us for dinner in the Farmer's Arms on Friday night, where we sat at the communal table and met some interesting people. There was some horseriding, a walk around the lake and a great deal of staying warm. When Barry picked me up yesterday afternoon we headed for Clunes. Only problem was that the map was not clear so we got lost a...

Jun 1, 2011 - Day 1

Hello from the tired travellers! We had a relaxed day yesterday with a lovely send off from Rachel, Lacie, Chloe and Max. We stopped at Ross for a quick lunch, then stopped at Ashgrove to collect our cheese supplies. We made it to Latrobe just in time to find some new games for the van. Did not have to wait too long to board the ferry as it was not very busy last night. The crossing was very smooth and apart from my coughing keeping us awake at times we did not have too bad a sleep. The tomtom was fired up and raring to go when we left the...

Hi all, Thought we had better create a journal entry before we head off. Our wedding was absolutely amazing despite the freezing cold weather and it went so fast (as everyone had told us it would)! Luckily we had a videographer and photographers so that we can relive the day over and over again! We had the most wonderful day with family and friends- you couldn't get the smile off our faces! We have attached a few photos for you all to have a squiz at- this should keep you happy until we return and get our professional ones back. We have...

Aug 2, 2008 - Out and about in the Daylesford Area!

I woke up at 8am and rolled over and went back to sleep. The next thing I knew it was 10am – fantastic!!! It was chilly when I got up but Dave and I had decided not to relight the fire this morning as we are heading out for the day. So I had a quick shower and got some breakfast. Once Dave was up and ready as well we headed out for a walk around Lyonville and the forest. We did a circular walk that was lovely. It really is a beautiful area. We didn’t stop at home for long but instead headed into Daylesford to the local farmers market....

Bridget's Trip!

Apr 28, 2008 - Crib Point to Daylesford (nearest town) via Sorrento on Sorrento/Queenscliff ferry

Freezing night last night and rained lots. Packed up in the rain this morning - yuk!! Good for the area; they need the rain. Temperature has been 16-18 during the day and down to 2 sometimes at night. Nice and warm in the big house but a bit worried about staying in the caravan again. Said our thankyous and goodbyes, and headed for the Sorrento/Queenscliff ferry. Thanks to Jayne, Scott and the kids for a fun and interesting stay. Very cool! We drove the car and caravan onto the ferry and took the 40 minute ride to Queenscliff. Drove off...
