Dec 25, 2012 - Phillip Island, Cowes

Oct 7, 2010 - Day 2
Well today we made our way down from Bairnsdale to Cowes on Phillip Island. When we got to the island we first went up to the Moto Grand Prix track and went through th motor racing museum they have there. Its a very good museum for any motorcar or motorcycle fan, lot of great racing memorabiliar and some classic and modern racing cars and bikes. Check out th piccy of the old Kwakka Zed 1000 (if getting th piccy on this page worked of course, heh)... The museum at the track is well worth th 13 bucks entry.. After the visit to th track we...

Sep 11, 2009 - Cowes and the Little Penguins
Phillip Island, Cowes and the Little Penguins. Thursday 10th September After a long drive we elect to stay at a campsite that advertises a Pool, spa and TV room with a wood burning stove! They tell us that they only have ‘en-suite’ sites available as the toilet block is being refurbished – but at $30 that is good by us! For those of you who don’t know what an ‘en-suite’ site is – well – imagine a little shed next to your caravan, with a toilet, basin and shower inside – and your own key!! – That’s it! This was a nice modern one, which we...

Jan 16, 2009 - My holidays - Phillip Island.

Dec 5, 2008 - Phillip Island
Now in Cowes, on Phillip Island. Travelled nearly 1000 miles in 2 days from Canberra, and inland through Victoria, to Phillip Island, just to the east of Melbourne. not done much, went to visit a few beaches, no surf but lovely scenery especially on the coast around seal rock, home to a colony of many a seal surprisingly. went and visited the Phillip Island race circuit, where the motogp race is held. in the evening, got to see lots of little penguins (yes that is their proper name) at dusk from the sea, as they walk up the beach to their...

Dec 22, 2007 - Melbourne to Phillip Island
Sorry to leave Melbourne. Great hotel, great place. Get taxi out to motor home hire place and driver doesn't know where he is going until Dad shows him on the map! Head off to Frankston and get lost along the way. Have lunch at Dad's cousin Mary's house and meet most of the Aussie Cameron clan. Arrive at Anchor Belle holiday park around 5pm and get hooked up to electricity etc. Kids in pool and cooking with gas as we type. Weather down here was spectacular for all the wrong reasons. Imagine Fort William on a bad day. They tell us they...

Nov 2, 2007 - Wahrscheinlich letzter Eintrag
