Not surprisingly, once we left Lake St. Clair National Park, headed west and began descending again, the heater was no longer necessary.By the time we got arrived at Mt. Fields National Park, it was downright hot. Mt. Fields is known for it's waterfalls (great ) and it's close proximity to Hobart(not so great). Fortunately, it was midweek and the kids had another week or two of school left. Sun 29th Jan 2005. Days 109-113: Sydney to Tasmania. I had had a really good time in Sydney, and would have been happy not to move on, but I had made arrangements to visit friends in Tasmania, so I said sad farewells to Mike & Helen, and Gill and her friends, before heading south. I have never been to Tasmania, so it was to be completely new to me.
