I think Tasmania must have used up all of it's weather for the month during those few days when I was bushwalking in the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, as ever since then my experience of Tasmanian weather has been limited to very nice warm, sunny, settled weather with clear blue skies. This has allowed plenty of time to get on with the serious business of looking for animals with silly names. Oct 20, 2004 - D: In search of the devil

Tasmania The first thing that always comes to my mind when I hear about Tasmania is, of course, the Tasmanian devil. Though we saw plenty of postcards sporting its image, unfortunately, we never saw one in real life. However, aside from that minor disappointment (we didn't see any wombats, either, and only caught a brief glimpse of an echidna) Tasmania delivered on all over accounts. We loved it! Armstrong Adventures

Jan 21, 2004 - Melbourne/Hobart (Tasmania)

Arrived in Hobart today about noon and got settled in my new hostel. I already like Tasmania as it has considerably more topography and foliage than Melbourne. Hobart is nice and, even as Tasmania's biggest town, feels small and comfortable. Toured around town, planned a tour for tomorrow, and prepared for my seven day tour to start on Friday.
