Saturday September 10 to Tuesday September 13 Venus Bay Caravan Park Saturday The day dawned bright, clear, and hardly any wind – but it’s still cold and the rain did appear! We stopped off at Streaky Bay – lovely little town – and bought 4 dozen closed oysters for $9 per dozen; bargain! Venus Bay is known for its fishing, surfing and diving and is packed in school holidays. Personally I can’t imagine anyone swimming in the cold waters here! The boys went fishing off the jetty and caught some local herring, or tommy rough as it is known....

Dec 6, 2012 - Streaky Bay heading to Coffin Bay (and all places between !!)

D 12, Wk 2. Fuel 16.7 lt/100kms. Today we left Streaky Bay and headed towards Coffin Bay, there were a lot of stops along the way including first up Murphy's Haystack, this is an amazing natural rock formation dating back thousands of years. A lot of scenic bays along the way, probably the most spectacular area was Venus Bay, the little town is built along the foreshore of the bay with a hill running up behind the town, and great spectacular views over the cliffs.
