20/10/2018. Saturday. Sunny, cool/cold breeze Port Hughes A windy night, but not quite so bad today - and the sky was blue, well, most of the time. A trip into Moonta, ‘Australia’s Little Cornwall’ where we parked and walked up and down the main street looking in shop windows - Real Estate: Hazel & I saw an old bank for sale and decided it would make a wonderful home, but Hazel couldn’t stand the cold and windy weather and it still had lease options for 12 years - nah! Gift shop: ventured in and could have stayed for hours, just looking!...

Oct 19, 2018 - Port Hughes

19/10/2018. Friday. Windy, rain. Port Hughes What a contrast from one day to the next, as the photos will show. We started our day with a lovely cooked breakfast in the Camp Kitchen, where Hazel and I were waited upon by our men. The 45-50kph winds predicted arrived, and there’s not an awning in sight, and even the seagulls have hunkered down. Just like us!!! Ian was close to dropping the top of our van, but in the end decided it wasn’t necessary. We stayed at the park for the day, Ron cooked scones which we had instead of lunch then...

Oct 18, 2018 - Port Pirie to Port Hughes

18/10/2018. Thursday. Warm and sunny, some light breeze Port Pirie to Port Hughes We popped into Woolworths for yoghurt and left with a bag full of groceries! An older lady was walking past 2 old men sitting on a seat, and one man called out ‘hey Jane - show us your carpel tunnel’. It sounded so funny. After driving through some beautiful countryside with golden wheat fields backed by beautiful low hills topped with wind generators, we stopped for lunch at Port Broughton, a lovely town on the western side at the top of the Yorke Peninsula....
