Jul 23, 2013 - Adelaide Shores

We arrived to stay at Big 4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park for 8 days. We paid for 7 and got the 8th free. We depart on the 31st July. The park is quite large and is the best we have seen in a long time as Big 4 is concerned. Today 24th, we found a place called Harbour Town with over 500 outlet stores. There are many coffee lounges and some of these overlook the airport whereby you can watch the planes come in or out. About a kilometre from Harbour town there is a carpark bay where you can park and also watch the planes come in or out. 25th...

Dec 18, 2012 - Glenelg to Victor Harbour (loop)

Day 24 Wk 4. Tues. Today we had brunch with family before they all headed to respective homes. We have decided to take a drive to Victor Harbour and maybe get to see a winery or two on the way back. First we took a memory lane drive to Hallet Cove to see where Janet and Merv raised the boys and spent so much of their lives. Victor Harbour was lovely, we had a lovely walk around the town centre and park, then ate a nice baguette for lunch, and then we took the horse drawn tram across to Granite Island and had a wander and watched the fairy...

Day 23,Fuel 11.6 lts per 100 kms. Today was a very emotional day as it was my brothers funeral. We did a little shopping in the morning, at Harbour Town, then had the funeral in the afternoon and caught up with all the family for tea and exchanged stories at the Holdfast Hotel. I was shattered and we had a reasonably early night after taking in the sunset.

Dec 16, 2012 - Gawler to Glenelg

Day 22 Wk 4 Sun. We left Gawler at 12 noon after a very leisurely start to the day. We are feeling a bit tired. Arrived at Glenelg at 2:15 and booked in to the Caravan Park, set up and got the washing done before joining up with Shane and Kevin at the Jetty Bar before moving on to the Motel where the rest of the family were staying. Had drinks and dinner with Janet, Brad, Shane, Glen, Kevin, Leila & Norm, Ken & Kate and met up with Catherine a bit later at the Bay Hotel. Dave decided to have a Port while Brad has a Champagne... Great...

Day 21 Wk 3 Saturday. Today we had a quiet start to the morning. Ang and Darren had said we would do a bit of a tourist drive to see the area and visit a couple of places we would not usually see. After breakfast we, had a trip to the shops, Dave finally got his hair cut, and we had to buy 13 hams for Xmas gifts to Darren's work clients. (An interesting endeavour, fighting and old man for the best hams...;-)). Once that was sorted we were off. To the Whispering Wall, a dam with the wall curved just right so that you can have a perfectly...

Jan 13, 2010 - Glenelg

Jan 15, 2009 - Glenelg

Caught the tram from Victoria square down to Moseley square in Glenelg, I was expecting a rustic old tem car but it was a modern train type ! Very squashed, it was standing room only all the way, reached beach after about 20 minutes on the tram. Kids enjoyed swimming in the ocean, they rode camels, ponies and both did the bungee trampolines!!

Jan 1, 2008 - A few days at Adelaide

We arrived at Adelaide for a few days rest stop to take a break from the driving. On our way we stopped in the town of Handorf which is situated in the Adelaide hills which was once a German settlement hence the name and when you get there all the pubs etc... have a distinct German feel. Last stop before arriving into the hotel was Mt. Lofty which is 710 metres above sea level and gives you a spectacular view over Adelaide. We ended up staying in the Stamford Grand in Glenelg which is a tourist suburb of Adelaide, beside the beach. The...
