We said goodbye to Helen and Rob about 9.30am. They have a fair drive ahead of them today as they want to get as far as Coober Pedy. How far they get beyond that is an unknown at this stage because the weather in their part of the world has turned very wet . The rain has started here today as well, but it is also thankfully much cooler. The challenge for today will be to get the washing dry! By lunch time, I had given up thinking I could get the washing dry on the line, so, becuase I needed dollar coins to operate the drier and I didn't...

Dec 25, 2016 - Leasingham

Merry Christmas! The promised heat for the day made itself apparent fairly early , so it was on with the air conditioning whilst getting the salads for lunch prepared. Then it was down to Helen and Rob's to the cool of air conditioning in their cabin for pre dinner drinks and then for lunch. We cooked turkey breast in the BBQ , so had turkey, ham and salads for mains then pavlova for dessert. It went down really quite well! Dec 24, 2016 - Greenock to Leasingham

After a quick game of frisbee with the dogs on the oval we had packed up the van and were on the road just before 10am. The drive to Leasingham only about 70k and was via Kapunda and Auburn. Auburn is known as the start of the Reisling trail which runs through the Clare Valley to Clare. Leasingham is about 7k from Auburn. We briefly stopped in Kapunda to take a photo of Map the Miner. It is a huge statue of the Cornish miner who found copper in the area. The town obviously has a sense of humour because, as you drive in and out of Kapunda,...
