Aug 13, 2011 - Hahndorf....
We ventured to Hahndorf today..... Very touristy but none the less fun. Had Lunch in the park with David & Rosie from the ABB forum and had a walk around the shops. Sort of a very relaxing day, I did buy some boiled sweets that are absolutley unbelievably sour, cant wait to share them!!!! I've had a talk with "Karen" and deleted her memory banks after she insisted on taking us the long way around today. She had better buck up or she will be scrapped....

And a nightingale sang in Moseley Square We set off this morning and put Gracie into a day spa at the Local vets. They gave her treats and a brush and trimmed her nails….. We walked to Klemzig station, about 20 mins from the Van Park, and caught the O Bahn into the city, a cup of coffee and a walk to Jaycar then back to Rundle Mall where the ladies joined us and we took a streetcar named Glenelg to Glenelg, the place not the palindrome, for lunch at the pub. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4JQ_lMSEvE That certain night, the night we...

Aug 1, 2011 - Singapore / Melbourne / Adelaide - HOME
Our night flying was sleepless but scream free. Although, Dan did watch Scream 4! Checking with two air hostesses about our luggage, both not knowing where it should or will be, we arrive Melbourne Airport, proceed to passport control, through Customs card check and to the baggage carousel to find our luggage amongst others. We pick up our 4 bags, so much for going through to Adelaide, head to Customs, going straight through as we had already been checked off and out the international section and across to domestic departures to check-in...

Jul 27, 2011 - Adelaide Hills
We stayed a few days at Liebelt House B&B in the lovely Adelaide Hills. It's a delightful heritage listed cottage on a farm with a miniature railway and typical farm animals. The owners have set up old schoolyard games to play. Very quaint. A great place to have a break from camping. Visited Birdwood Motor Museum which we all enjoyed. The Adelaide Hills are very pretty.

Jun 25, 2011 - Day 2 Warracknabeal to Adelaide
Our first nights sleep was very comfortable for all of us and although it was cold outside we were all snug and warm in our beds. Had breakie this morning in the Van and then spent most of the morning with Stacey, Cam, Will and Toby. The kids had a ball playing around the farm and went over to check out the duck shed and Steve got a tour of Cam’s new John Deer Tractor. After a quick morning tea we headed for Adelaide at about 11 am. We drove through Dimboola, Nhill, before we headed into Boardertown and we clapped and cheered as we drove...

Apr 29, 2011 - Arrived in Adelaide
In typical Jolly style we arrived in Adelaide on an overnight flight from Thailand at 7.30am, cleared customs by 8.30am and were out sight-seeing before 11am. We were met at Adelaide airport by our lovely SERVAS host couple who we stayed with for 2 days. Chris and Brian looked after us so well, giving us lots of information about Adelaide as well as feeding us delicious homemade food. Great company, great food and great help to two jetlagged and confused POMs - who could ask for more? When we shared our plans to go to Adelaide we always...

Apr 22, 2011 - Adelaide 22nd April - 8th May
We had a couple of overnight stops between Streaky Bay and Adelaide - one at Nuttbush Retreat about 40kms sw of Port Augusta and then at Port Wakefield, 99kms nw of Adelaide. We arrived at the Park here at 1030 on Good Friday and got set up. We have a super site here, close to everything. There is quite a big group of RANCBA members staying here, so we are using the bus service in and out of the city for our functions. Goes from the front gate right in to the city centre, so a breeze. Saturday from 1200-1600 was the Registration and the...

Apr 16, 2011 - Adelaide
April 16,17 Adelaide Sat/Sun Sat we took it slow. We did not have a good city map and we were set off on our own, so we got lost repeatedly. But that was fine. We eventually found our way downtown and wandered on foot for a while, ending up at the Aboriginal Arts Gallery. Hannah and Alex cooked us a home cooked meal when we returned and we did laundry and we tried to figure out Aussie Rules Footy. Port Adelaide slaughtered Adelaide even though Adelaide had the better uniform colors by far…, Since we’d already gotten lost and ended up near...

Apr 3, 2011 - Day nine – Adelaide (and that’s all I have to say about that…)
I woke up this morning and was promptly ejected from the hotel at 10am (non-daylight savings, so I got an extra hour at least). They were pleasant about it, but there was no late checkout, period. They did offer to hold my luggage, which was helpful. The hotel itself is pretty much a middle-end place, probably equivalent to a Comfort Inn. Sterile and flat, in a big-ish city (think St Louis or Baltimore), but not a place to find much in the way of history or interest even. I have read “In a Sunburned Country” by Bill Bryson, which was given...

Apr 2, 2011 - Day eight – Travel day
Once again the day started clear and beautifully, but the chill of fall was certainly evident. So I decided to relax until my 3:30 flight to Adelaide in Australia. I started with a run in the morning along the lake and then had a light breakfast and, to be safe, spent an hour getting my pictures and other media copied across a couple of storage devices just to be safe since it was all working at the moment. Then I spent an hour getting packed and arranged so that it was well organized and finally got a little reading in. I want to take just...

Mar 20, 2011 - Days 40 - 46 UPDATE NOTES
Hi All, South Australia is not helping much with the weather, we are starting to think travelling when the country is being affected by La Nina weather pattern is not too smart. We stopped off at a small town called Victor harbour for a few days and from there did a bus/ferry/bus/ferry and bus trip over to Kangaroo Island. Now Kangaroo Island is currently famous for seals not kangaroos any more. It was a long day but a great day and we saw some very rugged coastline on the south side of the island. We had a great lunch, saw a birds of prey...
