I think geologically the Nullarbor is technically only about 200kms long however most would consider it is the drive between Eucla (WA) and Ceduna (SA) about 500kms. ... They schlepped whatever needed schlepping from Darwin in the north or from Adelaide in the south into the middle of the continent. ... We are now 22 hours into our grueling trek on this train known as The Ghan which, for the past 80 years, has travelled from Adelaide to Alice Springs and, for the past 5 years, has continued on to Darwin – 3 days and nights and about 3,000 km. ...
