Apr 15, 2013 - Off to Nepal in 3 days!!
Our last 2 weeks We have been told that we aren’t updating our blog enough….LOL. I think the reason for that is because it feels like we are living in Australia (we have been here for 2 months) as opposed to vacationing here…if that makes sense??? Anyhow, on April 18th, we leave Australia to start our next exciting chapter in our adventure…Nepal. We have had many highlights to our trip since our last blog, some of which include: We have driven 10,000km in total since we have been in Australia. While in Helensvale we have driven as far north...

Mar 26, 2013 - The last 2 weeks
The last two weeks - Some highlights of our final week at The Entrance consisted of surfing and going to the Smashmouth concert. Glenn and I got up early every morning (5:30am) and headed to a local beach…there are about 9 within a 30 minute drive. (Notice I said just Glenn and I…the girls are pretty good at sleeping in…lol). I usually went for a walk while Glenn surfed….I’m still practising my pop-up (standing up on the board) which is a lot harder than I thought. We have been to many beautiful beaches but our favourite is Soldiers...

Mar 3, 2013 - Surfers Paradise
A stop that was sold to us as a mini 'Miami' so we were looking forward to it however on arrival on the bus we thought we had arrive in Benidorm- tacky shops everywhere. The rain continued as well through our whole stay here so decided to get a surf lesson on our second day which was so good and within 15 mins we were both up catching the waves.

Feb 1, 2013 - Surfers Paradise - A flying Visit!
On the way to Surfers we met two lads from England, Damon and James, who work in Adelaide. They were so funny and were drinking goon at like 11am! We weren’t tempted to join them though as goon is foul - Gives me the most awful hangovers! They were going to Byron bay so said we would catch up with them there. It was just a flying visit to Surfers Paradise, but when we arrived there it reminded us a lot of Atlantic City in America. Lots of high rise buildings on the seafront. We went to our hostel ‘Surf n Sun’; it was really nice and had a...

Jan 2, 2013 - Sunshine state (Day 2)
Wakker worden, het is klaarlichte dag en het is pas 5 uur ’s ochtends ???????? Uiteindelijk toch op even ontbijten en dan weer met de trein verder naar Goldcoast, Queensland. De naam Sunshine state klopt inderdaad. Wake up, it’s day the sun is shinging and it is 05:00...

Apr 17, 2012 - Final days in Australia
Tomorrow night I write my final law school exam at Bond University: Principles of Contractual Liability. 36 hours following that exam, I'm off to New Zealand to complete the rest of my law degree at the University of Auckland Law School. The decision was based on two main reasons: 1) Bond was always intended to be a temporary destination (the initial goal was Canada Law) 2) Prof Rick Bigwood, my contracts professor, is probably the single greatest mind I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. The man has been somewhat of a mentor for...

Jan 29, 2012 - Life's good in Paradise

Nov 22, 2011 - Surfing and selling in Surfers Paradise
Blog 19: Surfing and Selling Surfers Paradise We left Brisbane and drove down to a place called Surfers Paradise on the Sunshine coast. Whilst there was a lot of surfing, there was not so much sunshine. We checked Liam and Abbie into the hostel called Backpackers in Paradise, which was the best hostel I've seen so far. It was so big with a massive courtyard. After dumping all the bags and leaving the van parked outside the hostel, we walked to the beach. It seemed to have warmed up a bit so we all chilled out on the beach. We all fell...

Nov 14, 2011 - Surfer's Paradise
today we decided we wanted a day chilling by the pool so spent most of the day dipping in to the pool, reading books and catching the sun. It was ridiculously hot and in the 30's for best part of the day. Went to up to our suite to have lunch and then went for a stroll around the complex in the evening, had a meal out and then headed back to the hotel for a cocktail outside by the pool.

Nov 13, 2011 - Surfers Paradise
After catching a train from Brisbane and then the bus in to Surfer's Paradise we headed straight to our hotel to check in and drop bags off. Lovely hotel - we had been upgraded to a delux suite so had our own kitchen area & balcony. Once we had dropped off the bags we headed straight down to the beach. Boiling hot, beautiful white sands. Got excited when the helicopter flew above as thought maybe there was a shark. Went an had lunch on the sea front and then walked round the shops and brought Alan a pair of sunglasses. Decided to find a...

We had a great time especially eating at the restaurant then finally headed home. So that’s it for holidays this year (well maybe). So far we have been away from...
