May 6, 2013 - Back at Noosa

May 6 - 11 Our next intended stop was a 4 star rating van park at Harvey Bay that advertised having the only mineral spa in the area. Cazza thought this would have good healing qualities, but we were quite disappointed on arriving and realising we are still learning to interpret the true meaning of caravan park descriptions. We think they are a bit like real estate adds. Harvey Bay didn't really impress us much and so we decided to continue on to Noosa where we previously stayed. We spent a lovely week there. Davo did much better fishing in...

Davo and Cazza 2013

Feb 21, 2013 - Noosa

Woke up today and the sun was shining! So we headed down to a place called SouthBanks. It's a nice little area in the middle of the city. You can hop on a ferry, ride the Ferris wheel gondola, or lay on a man-made beach along a pool over looking the river. We opted for just a stroll through the area. Since parking was an issue here and ours had run out, we decided to head across the bridge into the downtown shopping sector. The hostel guy said it was a nice area to walk around and browse. And wouldn't you know it, we came across a market!...

Engagement honeymoon

Jan 26, 2013 - Noosa and Cyclone Oswald!

When we left for Noosa the weather was so bad, raining so much. We saw a group go off to Fraser Island and they looked so cold, miserable and very wet – we were so pleased we had gone when the weather was lovely. When we arrived in Noosa, there was a big poster about Australia Day but the weather was still very wet. As we haven’t got any more tours booked, we went to Coles (the local supermarket) and brought some food to start making our meals and a grocery bag – check us out. The first night we had pasta with vegetables with a small salad...

Sep 16, 2012 - Drive to Noosa beach

Again another relaxing day. After too KANGA snags for brekkie we take a trip over to Noosa. It's a lit different to what I expected and still has a nice beach groove. After getting a bob smith park we head for the boardwalk and joshie builds a couple of sand castles and jumps a few waves. The sand is beautiful and soft and everywhere you look it's clean and peaceful. A quick stop to top up the baked bean cupboard before having a relaxing afternoon . Joshie taking to having full conversations in the last few days and we think it must be di's...

May 22, 2012 - Noosa

We have been sanding down the bus for 3 days now and I can taste the dust but boy the bus looks good, just being rubbed down. Last night as I was contemplating what I had written to finish my trip journal, I was amazed at the amount of people that have supported, housed, feed, loved and prayed us through our journey around Australia and at the end of every movie there are credits so here are mine, Before the tripAl-if it wasnt for you and all your hard work we couldnt even think of going, thanks for looking after the workshop. Jason for...

Gormans Getaway

Jul 29, 2011 - Noosa

We had a nice, casual morning today. Izabella slept in a little later, so we all were able to get a little more sleep. It is a comfortable condominium with a small kitchen and bathroom, along with a bedroom (where the Verbanszkys stayed) and a living room where poor Peggy was delegated to sleep on the pull-out bed. We made breakfast consisting of some of the items we collected at yesterday's farmers market. Farm fresh eggs, with their bright orange egg yolks, big, thick slices of bacon, fresh-squeezed mandarin juice, and some...

Jul 28, 2011 - Nimbin to Noosa Heads

We woke up early this morning because we wanted to hit the Byron Bay Farmer's Market on our way out of town. It did not take long for us to clean up and check out since we skipped breakfast in hopes of finding something at the market. The two musicians at the Beach Hotel gave the audience advice that we should go to the market early for it gets busy and the vendors run out of their products, so we made sure that we arrived only 20 minutes after it opened. We were surprised to see the large number of cars parked around the market area and...

May 29, 2011 - Aus - Day 26- Excellent views and beaches

We got up nice and early and made our way out of camp by 8am. Drove the "Sunshine Coast", stopping in at Coolum Beach along the way to watch a junior surfer competition. Carried on along the coast to Noosa National Park. to Noosa Heads. Billed as one of this country's premier destinations, it is renowned for its proliferation of finer things in life within Noosaville itself or on its amazing beaches. We went for an 8km hike along the Noosa beach line, taking in the vast ocean views. Green turquoise water, crashing waves in certain areas...

Nov 28, 2010 - Noosa, Queensland

Good Morning Noosa, Queensland. We found a nice apartment on the Noosa River with laundry and free internet and a 4pm check-out. We spent the morning on all our electronics, doing a little homework, and skyping family. The kids chased down the crossiant man in his truck with success. Noosa is a perfect vacation town. It reminds me of Santa Monica. There is a quiet river running parallel to the oceanfront. On the river, people rent kayaks, pontoons, and jet skis. Around the bend the beach is a surfers paradise. We grabbed a few boogie boards...

Oct 22, 2010 - Noosa Heads

So firstly a quick stop in Brisbane for one night only. Another typical ozzie city in that it all seems very laid back, relaxed, clean. After the standard traveller traipse around different hostels trying to find the cheapest (all advertising deals which they then don't uphold because of 'conditions') we ended up checking into a 3 person room, as it was going to be the same price (ish) as a dorm. Wandering around the town, seeing a few of the sights, including Story Bridge, a main attraction apparently. Sensational discovery of some cheap...
