Cape Trib to Cooktown via the 4WD Only 'Bloomfied Track' 100km (4,247km so far) Quite an effort to get to Cooktown from Cape Tribulation (well from anywhere acutally!). ... Also, the road was hugely pot-holed in areas with the result that we had a tyre blowout around 3/4 of the way up to Cooktown. ... Funny though, in this remote place the two barmaids were from London and Ireland! They were doing 6 weeks there and we spent a while talking to one of their brothers who had just arrived via Cairns from Potters Bar!! Brits get everywhere in this country! So, off again and we got to Cooktown soon after. ... I think that by Cooktown we both needed a night off but, that was to wait until Cairns. ...

Wedding bliss

While Shay and Tony were doing their dive course, Lucy and I decided to go on a trip of our own. We spent two nights in Cape Tribulation which is on the North East tip of the country below Cooktown. ... we booked a tour from a company who said they would pick us up from outside the hostel so we duly waited at the time they said and a guy came accross the road, asked if we were on the trip and asked us to follow him.While Shay and Tony were doing their dive course, Lucy and I decided to go on a trip of our own.
