Nov 24, 2005 - Town of 1770

Well I just arrived in 1770 today. Really small town, but the hostel seems really nice. Totally relaxed. The beaches here are supposed to be nice also. I guess buses have only been coming to this town for a year and they have only had police for a year and a half!!! I am only staying 3 nights though. On sunday I am taking the overnight bus to Airlie beach and on Wednesday I am going on my sailing trip through the Whitsunday Islands.. should be really good! I hope the people on my boat are even half as awesome as my Fraser group.. gonna be a...

May 20, 2005 - Agnes Waters

Agnes Waters and the Town of 1770 (first recorded landing in Queensland for Captain Cook) is a very picturesque place with chilled out beaches, mellow surf and a wicked little free campsite in amongst the bush, full of wildlife and on the edge of the beach. We spent a few nights here relaxing after the hell that was tomato picking... Lots of sun, surf and early nights - our site had no electricity so by about 8.30pm we were pretty much ready for bed - & after a few days R&R we were ready to hit the road again... :-)
