Aug 28, 2006 - Town of 1770 and Agnes Water

Town of 1770 was such a cool little place. It was a bit more off the beaten track so less people and less development which made it a great place to chill out for a couple of days. We managed to park up on a wicked little spot on this headland looking out to sea where the sun rose on one side and set on the other. Plus an added benefit was that the ranger lived ages away and never checked up so we could stay there no problems. Our first night there we met THE craziest hippies. Oct 31, 2005 - Agnes Water - Surf School

Agnes water is Queenlands most northern surfing beach and ideal for beginners it is near the Town of 1770 the place where Captain Cook made his first landing in Queensland in the year 1770! (Aussies are really imaginative with naming places). Stayed at hostel called Cool Bananas, which the lonely planet lists as a backpacker 'shangri-la'. We wouldn't go that far but it was a well-run hostel with free videos, body boards and has real chilled out atmosphere. Had a surf lesson for $16 in a group of 6. Jan 21, 2005 - Brisbane and the Reef Trip

We arrived yesterday in Brisbane after an hour long flight. Apparently, there is a time difference between here and Sydney. Strange. So, we were a little thrown off in our times, but it's alright. We figured it out. We managed to find our way (via 2 buses and a train) from Coolangatta to Brisbane, and walked out of the train station into the sweltering heat.
