Mary took the boys to Townsville to catch up with Nonno and the Gallon Family while I took the motor home straight home to Ayr. George was pleased to see us and it was great to come home to a clean and spacious home (after all this time in the motor home). Now the unpacking ..... We have had a great time - 142 days on the road around some of this country's most beautiful places. 22367 Kms of travel. Lifetime of memories and adventures. It is great being home but also sad that the journey has ended. Time to start planning the next...

Aug 14, 2009 - Alva Beach
It was from a company based on Alva Beach near Ayr that I booked the dive out to the S.S. Yongala, and what a day it turned out to be. The Yongala was commissioned in 1903 and sunk in a cyclone on the 23 March 1911. The Wreck was discovered in 1958 and it is now considered one of Australia's best dives due to the number of fish and corals that inhabit the wreck. Dec 23, 2007 - Second job (mango picking)
(pictures will be added soon).....sorry for the inconvenience Hey everybody, yes i know..i have not written for long... but i never seem to have time...sorry everybody my second job...i spent 3 weeks in Ayr in a hostel above a bar and everyday i got up at 4 o'clock and took a bus to work I worked on a Mango farm. i picked mangoes on a machine for 10 hours a day. i love mangoes and funnily enough i still do. i was hit thousands of times by mangoes and that really hurt. on the first day a big mango hit me on my mouth and nose.
