Decided to miss out Bowen where we were due for 1 night, as wanted a bit more of a rest somewhere. Slogged it for 5 hours all the way through to Airlie Beach. ... Unfortunately it was 3 hours away from Airlie Beach , so I was on my way at 7. ... 10 am! Almost seems like working again! We boarded the boat , set sail and I did my utmost not to make any new friends ( I did succeed with the help of a well tilted cap, shades & my Ipod) we arrived at Knuckle Reef and hooked on to the mother ship that is based there permanently.Decided to miss out Bowen where we were due for 1 night, as wanted a bit more of a rest somewhere. Having been shown the ropes on how to survive in Australia on around 5 dollars a day by my new Italian friends (no wonder Italians rarely travel) I'm now spending money again, this time on a sailing adventure around the Whitsundays. Today I'm in Airlie Beach; the gateway to The Whitsundays and mecca for every teenager in Australia who came for the party. ... Looking around in Airlie Beach I now believe I was well advised although I do think air conditioning is a little OTT. ...
