After saying goodbye to my sister in Thailand, Jeff and I headed south to Australia! We arrived in Brisbane where our college friend Tara picked us up and whisked us away to her lovely home. ... But afterwards Tara showed us around down town and along the Brisbane river on the Southbank. ... I LOVE BRISBANE!!! On my birthday Tara took us to Coolum Beach for a kite festival. ...

We arrived at Brisbane (BRIZ-buhn) at 8am this morning after an excursion trip of some 55 nautical miles up the Brisbane River from the Coral Sea. ... Cairns, Australia “Travelling is almost like talking with men of other centuries. ... We arrived in Cairns, Queensland, Australia at 5pm late yesterday afternoon and prepared to spend the evening and all day today. ... Cairns is the main jumping off point for trips out to the Great Barrier Reef and is a burgeoning community. ... The entertainment was by a local Cairns group, the SNAKE GULLY BUSH BAND. ... We lingered a bit to sample the lamb chops and to check out the music and then we went out on the main street of town to visit the famous Cairns Night Market. ...

Oct 25, 2009 - Ferry on the Noosa River
Gee we had a lovely day today. Also had a chat to the girls (ie: Ashley and Brittany) on the phone when they called to say (or should I say sing!!) ‘I just called to say I love you’ – that was really lovely :) After rescuing a little girl who came off her bike it was back on the ferry again this time going all the way through to Noosa Heads. ... We got talking to another German couple with whom we shared out wine and they could not get over how friendly Australians were!!! We traveled all the way back to Noosa Heads again then on the way back we had the whole boat to ourselves (other than the ferry driver of course). ... What a magical, magical end to a lovely day.Gee we had a lovely day today.
