May 14, 2012 - Wandilla Station, Music in the Mulga
10th May 2012 The drive from Cunamulla is on good roads, but the last 15 km from Eulo to Wandilla Station is bone shaking corrugations, but it was worth every bump. Music in the Mulga was amazing, the camp area was huge and there were showers and toilets available and good drinking water from the bores. The first couple of days were laid back with all of the entertainers joining in with everybody and generally having a great time. We caught up with Rod Dowset and his wife, Shelley again. I won a cowboy hat at the walkups and even though it...

May 13, 2012 - Boulia to Jervois
13th May 2012 Day 6: Michael seen paw prints this morning on his way to the bin that was provided that he reckons were from a lion or the like so we decided that it was time to head off pronto. We left at 8am for a big trip into the Northern Territory for the first time in our caravan travels. The Donohue Highway proved to be better than we expected. It was approx. 260km from Boulia to the NT border. This is still 200km short of Jervois Station which is the first fuel stop. Once we crossed into NT the road deteriorated from a dirt highway...

May 12, 2012 - Longreach to Boulia
12th May 2012 Day 5: We awoke early to a cool morning. Got ourselves moving on the road by 8.10am. Our daughter-in-laws birthday. Happy Birthday Michelle. We are on our way to Boulia which will be a long day so we decided not to stop at Winton to see the Waltzing Matilda Centre this trip, perhaps on the way home. Arrived at Boulia at 2.50pm.Refueled at 169.9c/l and took on 108.18 litres. We decided to free camp beside the Burke River for the night. Took us ages to find but it was on the way to the Donohue Highway so we had not too many...

May 11, 2012 - Gold Coast - May 7-11
An unexpected 5 day trip to the Gold Coast with Donna and the 6 Children happened when Graeme had to pull out of the family holiday at the last moment. Sad for him and for the family, yet we had a great time together. Even Marli got to go on 'her' rides this year which kept her happy. The older ones went on every ride available. We rented a home in Upper Coomera, in sight of Dream World and White Water World, and only 5 minutes away from Wet 'n Wild, Movie World and Outback Spectacular. We all went to the tribute to Phar Lap show on at...

We also stopped at Barcaldine to see the new tree of Knowledge Monument which was really good as it look like a gigantic wooden pipe organ, whilst there we also seen a truck carrying 2 monster truck show cars which we took photos of they are huge in real life. Off we go to Longreach where we had to refuel at 162.9/ litre. We took on 104.46 litres this time. The free camp this time was at the Longreach Waterhole where there were 48...

May 9, 2012 - Wallumbilla to Charleville
9th May 2012 Day 2: Left Wallumbilla showgrounds at 8.25am for Charleville which we decided to stay at for 2 nights. There was a lot of road works between Jackson and Roma, where we stopped to have a look at the Big Rig. It had a variety of very interesting souvenirs We found the Warrego highway in general was pretty good, a couple of places it was like a roller coaster which made it difficult for Sharon to read her book. Arrived at Charleville at 1.15pm and stayed at the Bailey’s Bar Caravan Park, the odometer reading was 8708. Bailey’s...

May 7, 2012 - Day 61
Hi All, Heading north and getting warmer we have stopped at a town called The Entrance being the entrance to Tuggerah Lakes. We had fantastic sites facing each other and Barry’s van was manoeuvred to be just 1 foot off the concrete bank to the water. We had a lot of fun as being north the weather was warmer and Barry and Gai (from Wollongong) even dropped in for Happy Hour. After that beaut stay we stopped for a night at Port Macquarie but the stay was ruined by shocking van sites and the approaching massive Iron Man competition which had...

May 6, 2012 - Magnetic Island

May 4, 2012 - Mission Beach

May 1, 2012 - Paronella Park
