Feb 10, 2010 - King's Canyon

We booked on to the Rock Tour.. I had not realised that Uluru is all of 470km from Alice Springs so getting to Alice is only half the leg of the journey! King's Canyon is located in Watarrka National Park. 3 colours dominate - blue skies, fiery red sandstone and green vegetation. It's a 270metre high chasm A few people swam in the 'Garden of Eden'.. as ever I sat happy to sweat nearby. Stopped in one of the farmholdings to buy our 'goon' or wine cask. Not very classy but hey! Slept in our Swag underneath the stars near Curtin Springs.....

Jul 22, 2006 - The Olgas and Kings Canyon

Whilst we were in the general vicinity it was decided that we should pay a visit to the Olgas and Kings Canyon, another of Australia's natural wonders, though perhaps slightly less well known. The Olgas are actually part of the same underground rock formation as Ayers Rock.
