Saturday was a sad day with the departure of Nanny and Pa. We spent the rest of the day preparing ourselves for the trip back up the Tanami. Stu and Soli ducked out for a while to see the local AFL sides do battle, and with the teams made up of mainly blacks, it was high quality entertaining footy. We packed up on Sunday morning, grabbed our free pancakes as is the custom at the MacDonnell Range Big 4 caravan park every Sunday morning and then headed into town to do some last minute food shopping, knowing we wouldn't see a major town for a...

Apr 15, 2006 - WA to NT: Bogged on the Tanami

Up early, spritely and ready to hit the road. The mozzies have been busy and I look like I've got the pox from their bites. When we wake up there is dozens of them waiting to suck our blood, just hanging from the flyscreens on the tent. They want a piece of me, but it's not happening. Don't get out of the tent until I'm covered in repellent. Not good for the health, but I can't stand the itches anymore. Cross the border into the Northern Territory.
