May 1, 2017 - Out of the frying pan...................and into the Sauna

KMS to date - 2,800 Since leaving Alice Springs, we have had a brief respite from the heat with cooler days and nights. But this did not last long..........we crossed into the Tropic of Capricorn and almost immediately the heat and humidity increased. (Ben) After our ten day detour to the red centre (which was thoroughly worth it!) we were quite looking forward to getting back into traipsing-down-the-highway-and-pulling-into-free-rest-stops mode again. Fingers crossed we don't get bogged because it will be a helluva job to get the three tonne Rig out of there. The boys are absolute gems and install me, relatively dry, in the front seat while they do all the dirty work of packing up. When they eventually climb into the car drenched and cold we slowly make our way down the track and back onto...

Nixes On Tour

Aug 2, 2005 - Daly Waters, NT

I just had to give this place a mention, it was the best night out we have had in Oz so far. Picture this, we were reading about this place in the Lonely PLanet, it said it was a must do, a campsite next door to the oldest pub in the Northern Territories, well that's got me there already, but they also have nightly entertainment. OK, judging by the entertainment we have been subjected to at the campsites already this is going to be Butlins in the Outback. We rocked up to the Pub to get the last powered site in the campsite, which...
