After 3 wonderful days and nights camped at Redbank, we rise early to pack up, do the walk of the gorge and head for Gosse Bluff. The road is very corrugated and reduces speed down to around 60km p.h. After about an hour of traveling we reach Tylers lookout with has a spectacular view of Gosse Bluff, a 140 million year old comet crater. The structure makes for impressive viewing compared to the low lying, sparse landscape surrounding it. We make the trek inside the crater. Brown's Oz Trek

Sep 3, 2005 - Alice Springs - Kings Canyon

We managed to turn what would have been a very boring few hours into a very productive morning!! Aside from a bakery, there wasn't anything open at 5am when we rolled into Alice. We hung out there till the laundromat next door opened a couple hours later, and walked out with fresh and clean laundry an hour and a half later! We pulled out of Alice at around noon, picked up our rental car, and headed south to Kings Canyon. Very hot and dusty. We were both getting sunburnt while sitting in the car!!!
