Up the Centre 10.7.16 Alice Springs to Barrow Creek 290km Packed up the van, and parked it out on the road while we went back to have our free pancake breakfast. However as we got nearer could see about 100 people before us. Decided we really didn't need pancakes after all. Just had slice of fruit loaf when we stopped for morning tea. Yesterday we bought a new thermos, as our old one wasn't keeping hot enough. Well, wished we still had it when the new thermos gave us a luke warm cup of tea. Jun 18, 2016 - Saturday 18th June

Woke up to a beautiful sunrise and the little birds chirping, heading now toward Tennant Creek, the sky is very grey and we have our first day of rain since leaving Broome. We only filled up with fuel at Tennant Creek,then moved on to a rest stop to have lunch, we had just finished when a car and caravan pulled up, He knocked on the door and said, Hey you two, Oh my it was Laurie and Vicki, he was the one that helped Mal with a flat tyre on the bus way back at Quabba Beach. 2016 holiday

Nov 18, 2012 - Roadhouse - Barrow Creek

6:30 am...After a hot night we drove(actually, Bonnie did) the entire day, 3 of us packed into the front seat - due to a fine if one of us is without seat belt. Landscape flat with trees/shrubs/grasses but lots and lots of burned areas. Saw 2 live 'roos' very early in the day and many road kill roos. The 'road trains' are many and some as long as 53+ meters - 4 trailers! Wiki Info Road Train You can google road train and see hundreds of photos to get the 'picture', ha! In Cloncurry we go through a downpour/rain - refreshing...Wiki Info...

Sep 4, 2009 - Ormiston Gorge to Newcastle Waters Days 56-57

After narrowly escaping the rates notice from Alice Springs Council we headed west for another of these 250km "side trips" This roughly equates to 6 tanks of fuel for poor Kenny KIA. Kenny by the way was treated to his service and oil change in Alice. Happy little car. He was not that keen to take Ugly Betty out for another date ( I mean who can blame him, have you seen her rear end!) so we promised him a car wash in Darwin if he behaved and did not hurt her feelings. The various rivers of the Finke-Todd catchment savagely carve out passes...
