Jul 21, 2012 - Wagga Wagga Wagga
We've made it to Wagga Wagga on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River! Never thought we would get this far. We're at another Freedom Camp at Wilks Park; water, toilets and a dump point but no power. This is where the generator comes in handy, even did 2 loads of laundry today. Plenty of other caravanners to talk to as well. This place was under water only 3 months ago but everything has been cleared away from the flood and it's another place we recommend. Every town shortens its name and Wagga is no exception, but I like to call it Wagga...

13th April Finally departure time.Left Canberra at 9am arriving at Wagga Beach Caravan Park at midday. A very hot day here. They have been flooded 3 times over the last 18 months, they are over it. The last flood was high enough to enter the office and half way down the street towards the police station. They still have the sand bags in place.Plenty of rubbish hanging in the fences. Some of the residents of North Wagga will be out of their homes for at least 4 months. 14th April Big drive today, 85kms. to Temora. Staying at the Airport...

Apr 25, 2011 - Luke puts his foot in it
And woke up to the sounds of silence. The weather has just been amazing. Apart from the first cold night in Orange which shocked us all, we have had glorious days and slightly cooler evenings - luckily six of us in a van creates so much hot air! From Tocumwal we travelled along the gorgeous Murray River to Corowa where we arrived just in time for the ANZAC Day ceremony. After the ceremony we wanted to sit by the river to have some lunch but could not find it in NSW for love nor money. A trip over the bridge into VIC and we were able to wend...

Dubbo to Wagga Wagga Road conditions were fair to middling and it may have been the new tyres, but the road seemed a bit bumpy. Will check the tyre pressures to make sure they didn’t over-inflate them at the tyre place yesterday. At 406km, today’s drive was the 2nd longest that we’ve done in a single day and the entire journey was spent traveling through agricultural areas, with wheat being the main crop and grain silos all over the place. It seems to be very dry, so maybe this particular area was not affected by the floods. Before coming...

Jul 13, 2009 - Wollongong to Wagga
We were up bright and early today ready for the great trip. As we had the weekend to check things and pack the caravan and Pathfinder, there was not much to do before going. All arrangements with Jim's mowing and Garry the fish carer etc were done, last check and we locked all the doors and said farewell to the house. At 9:00am we set off for the 17000 km trip from Wollongong to Perth and many places in between. Up Mt Ousley Hill to the Picton entry ramp to the Hume Highway and on toward Goulburn , it was soon time for lunch and choc-chip...

Apr 19, 2008 - Getting ready
The ice looks white, hard and cold but contrastingly the interior of the luxury liner appears incredibly inviting. Flicking through the glossy Alaskan brochures I can't help but feel the anticipation rise. It's just over three weeks to go before we head off on second big world trip and the preparation is exhausting. It's not the packing or the document preparation that causes grief, it's making sure the uni assignments are done and work is organised that overwhelms.

Mar 14, 2008 - River floating and nights out in Wagga
Well after my travels so far I thought that Australian public transport was the bee’s knees. I may change that opinion after trying to get from the NEW coast to Wagga Wagga. Yep it was a nightmare. Defiantly a time a car would have been handy. It took me 15 hours of sitting on buses and at bus stops, not exactly thrilling. It was nice to see a friendly face when I arrived in Wagga. Unfortunately my timing wasn’t great as Kim was busy working or at Uni, but that was cool as I got chance to just wonder and find my explorers feet...

Hello, Just in Wagga Wagga at the moment, it's apparently the biggest inland city in New South Wales!!! everything is relative, Sydney is close at onyl 5 hours away!! Went to canberra last saturday 21st July, bit of a random place for the captial city of Aus, it's really clean and very quiet. It has literally been created from nothing!! theres no history to the place, they think that the Old Parliment Building is historic and it's only like 70 years old!!! but a nice place to wonder around. Did my first week of CVA stuff this week in Albury...

Jul 18, 2007 - Bug bites and Saddle sore....
Well I've made it down to Wagga Wagga now. My last day in the Blue Mountains was fairly uneventful... To be truthful I didn't feel like doing very much at all as On the Sunday as I discovered that what I thought was just an allergic reaction to the detergents the sheets were washed in were in actual fact bed bug bites. And they were everywhere, and I mean everywhere.... The Hostel staff were very nice about it, changed my room for the last night and gave me some money back, but as you can imagine I didn't sleep too well. Plus I was going to...

We joined our camping tour today. There are 36 of us on an AAT Kings bus. Our guide, cook and driver are all native Australians. The tourists are mostly Canadian, several from Great Britain, 2 from Denmark, 1 from Germany, 2 from S. Carolina and 2 from Australia. Today we drove mostly through small townships and along Murrabridgee River. We camped at Darlington Point and had lessons on camp set up. Our suitcases and sleeping bags are stored in the luggage compartments of the bus. The bus pulls a 7 ton trailer with the tents and airless...

Onderweg stoppen we enkele keren. We maken onze lunch. Echt handig zo'n rijdende keuken...
