Feb 13, 2011 - Ulladulla

13 Feb '11 Slept very well last night. Must have been the pasta and wine. Today we caught the train to Oak Flats, south of Wollongong. About an hour & half trip. We were met at the station by Sharon & Neville, Kevin's Sister and brother-in-law. We visited their beautiful home, had a coffee. Then we piled into their car and headed south down the coast. Drove for a couple of hours to the town Ulladulla, pronounced ella della I think. We went for fish and chips at the harbour. We all had barramundi. What kind of fish is that you ask? Don't...

Jun 28, 2010 - After a very long drive and a sleepover on the way......

Not sure where we were at with my last update, so I apologise if I repeat myself! We decided to drive around Sydney in one hit instead of driving closer and then driving round. We were up at the crack of dawn - well before actually on Sunday morning. Tried to be as quiet as possible packing everything up (we had managed to put the awning down after we had been out on Saturday night as the rain had stopped). Of I forgot - we ended up having a lovely dinner in a french restaurant on Saturday night - better than the club. Anyway, we were...

Jun 25, 2010 - It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring.......

Yep it is pouring with rain in Burrill Lake! We were up and out with the lark this morning and went to 9 garage sales - did we find any bargains.............no only a load of rubbish! We then had a late breakfast in Milton and read the paper. I bought a new addition to the 'family'. Her name is Lavender Milton and when I was looking at a heap of rag dolls in a basket she called to me from the bottom of the heap! Barry thought she was for Lacie, but no she is not :) She is sitting here with me and I will post photos of her later - much later...

Jun 23, 2010 - More time needed at Burrill Lake

Good afternoon! We are staying here for another two nights as it is so peaceful and relaxing........also there are heaps of garage sales on this weekend for us to explore! The funniest thing yet is the "Servos Club" which is the RSL has pokies outside so that the smokers do not miss precious pokie time!!!! Then we saw an elderly gentleman with $1000 sitting in the one cent machine he was 'playing' on and betting 250 bets a go! Too much for me I must say. We have done quite a lot of exploring around here between showers. It poured heavily...

Jun 22, 2010 - Was time to go.....

Hello from Burrill Lake near Ulladulla :) We left Murimbula at 10 this morning with the plan of heading for Batemans Bay. We stopped at Central Tilba at lunchtime so went for a stroll through the village with is a stunning heritage village. The only downside was the miserable traders. No fun walking in with a smile and a hello, only to be greeted with a grump - we replied with our feet and walked straight back out! When we got to Batemans Bay we kept on driving as we really don't like it very much and found our way here. The park is $18 per...

Jan 3, 2010 - Ulladulla

Today was another great day in a line of great days in Aussie. We had a great sleep as we were woken up by kookaburra birds quietly chirping among the sun rise and fresh air. Yes it really is that nice. Today we had a great breakfast and enjoyed the sun and some backyard playing with the dog - PJ. At around 11:00 we left for a small fishing tourist port named Narooma. We had a great lunch at Tiger Fish & Chips. We ate some lovely shrimp, prawns, oysters, and an assorted sea food. After lunch Shannon had to head home back to Canberra. After...

Jan 2, 2010 - Ulladulla

We had a very peaceful sleep. Country outback Australia nights are very quite with the kookaburra birds chirping in the background. Today in the morning after a lovely breakfast in the sun and complete quite, we toured a little around the area, up and down the coast. We then went to Mollymook beach for a lovely swim in the beach. Typical ...miles of soft sand, warm water. The Australians are crazy. The sun is blistering hot, water is warm and there is never anyone on the beaches. They are empty. Anyway we played rugby, football and had a...

Jan 1, 2010 - Ulladulla- outback Aussie land

2010. Happy New Year everyone. On behalf of those of us Down-under, best of luck in the New Year, health and happiness to all. Today after a wonderful 3-4 hr sleep, we got up and had a little breaky. We repacked our small travel bags. At about 12:00 Phil and Maureen (Chris) parents arrived in Chatswood to drive us down the south coast to Ulladulla - can you get a town name any more Australia outback than that. We had a great lunch with Larriane, Phil, Maureen (parents) of the kids from Aussie. Then we headed out to small town Australia....
