Sep 12, 2011 - Canberra to Moree

Left Canberra really early 6:30am which is the earliest departure for the whole of the trip so far. The reason for leaving so early is because we wanted to spend a couple of hours enjoying the artesian hot pools at Moree. We are staying at the same park that we stayed in at the beginning of our trip - Gwydir Carapark for one night. I will repeat what I said about Gwydir Carapark at the beginning of our trip - The great thing about Gwydir Carapark is that it has 5 artesian spa pools onsite. The pools vary in temperatures from 39 degrees down...

Jul 2, 2011 - Hervey Bay to Moree

We left Hervey Bay on Friday 1st July around 7am stopping around 4 hours later for lunch. We arrived at Moree around 4pm. We are staying at the Gwydir Carapark for two nights. The great thing about Gwydir Carapark is that it has 5 artesian spa pools onsite. The pools vary in temperatures from 39 degrees down to 34 degrees. The pools were very busy especially the 37 degree one were it was really packed. The pools were predominately filled with seniors in their 70s - Jim and I felt like one of the youngsters!!! One lady was telling me that...

Jun 3, 2010 - Magic Moree

Moree – town of the healing waters, reminds me of the line from Casablanca: Carol says to Trevor; what bought you to Moree Trevor? Trevor says to Carol; I came for the Waters… When I return if not before I’m going to call a special general meeting of the 1St Australian Hydrotherapy Sqn (Tuggeranong Detachment) that we should hold our future BIG Breakfasts in Moree, the waters are much warmer and the breakfasts are much bigger, 2 snags, whole tomato, ½ kg bacon, 2 eggs, toast, hash browns etc for $12. I didn’t check out the pancakes… mind...

Nov 11, 2005 - Swimming at Boonoo Boonoo National Park, on to Moree

Wake up to a campsite surrounded by wallabies and kookaburras fossicking in the early sun at Bald Rock National Park. It's a beautiful place now the torrential rain is over and we decide a swim is in order at the Nat Park next door. At Boonoo Boonoo NP we walk around 300 metres to the falls which are just beautiful. Stu takes photos and I take in the view. We find truly magic waterholes and strip off for a swim. The waterholes are so beautiful that they look like they've been planned - a series of different sized waterholes that stream into...

May 9, 2005 - Leaving Beijing

We woke up early and hopped in a taxi for my meeting with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Representatives. It took forever to get there but my meeting went great. The people were happy to make contact. Ms. Du, who will probably be my direct supervisor, was very nice. She even walked us down to the first floor and out of the building. I really look forward to the prospects of working in Beijing with the basketball programs in 2008. From there we went to the Forbidden City. For many, many years no outsider had ever been inside the gatese of this...
