Jun 11, 2010 - Surf Camp Was Freezing But Fun!
Early Thursday morning, around 6.45am, we eventually left on the bus from the Oz Experience office in Sydney. Everyone was new to each other and everyone was either tired, asleep or hungover so no one really got talking until after a couple of food stops, and then new friends were made as soon as we hit the Bottle Shop to share some beers ready for Surf Camp that night. We had a really great driver called Deano and he booked us into hostels and trips for Byron Bay, and there was Woody and she did a bit of the driving as well. On the way to...Jump to full entry
Dec 22, 2008 - Byron Bay to Arrawarra, QLD - It's all about the lifetsyle!
Headed down for an early stroll around Byron Beach and the town centre where we amazingly bumped into Olie (Tim's flat mate from 1st year at uni!). We knew he was in Oz but had no idea we would see him here. We then boraded the bus for the drive to Arrawarra for surf camp at Mojo Spot X, on the way stopping to look at a giant prawn... We arrived at the surf camp after 2 PM and immediately headed to the beach for a spot of sun worshipping before returning to camp to kit up and get ready for our surf lesson. After 40 minutes of crap chat...Jump to full entry

Sad to leave Byron so soon, I got on the bus with our new driver 'Sonic' for our 3-4 hour drive to Mojo Surf, which is by Arrawarra Beach. When we arrived we dumped our stuff into our rooms and half an hour later started our surf lesson. There was only 8 of us and as I had left Byron before everyone I didn't know anyone on the bus which felt quite odd. After a short talk we went and got our wet suits and boards and made our way to the beach, where we had a theory lesson - practicing on the sand. Then we went out into the water. The first...Jump to full entry
Oct 8, 2007 - Arrawarra, Australia
Drive from Ballina to Arrawara...... We made several stops on the coast. We also stopped at a gallery that featured Australian artist and Susan bought a nice water color that depicted Australia nicely. After that a light on the dash came on indicating that the batter was not being charged. We found out that the latch for the hood was broken. So I made no more stops until we got to the rv park. Once there, I turned off the ignition and started the engine. The light didn't come on again, so all seems to be well. Susan then fed some of the...Jump to full entry
