SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2006. PERITO MORENO GLACIER, ARGENTINA. Francisco and Pilar left for El Chalten, another mountain hamlet, this morning. After traveling four days together, we said our goodbyes. As for me, I caught an 8:00 a.m. bus (Caltur 50 pesos return; $16) to Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (30 pesos; $10), 80 kilometers away from El Calafate, to see its star attraction, the Perito Moreno Glacier. Sep 3, 2006 - Perito Moreno Glacier

We arrived at Perito Moreno Glacier early in the morning. It is difficult to describe this magnificent glacier. It really did take our breath away and a number of other cliches like that. It is simply spectacular. Driving along the road we came onto our first glimpse of the magnificent glacier. Until recently this was the fastest advancing glacier in the World.
