Jan 8, 2007 - Trekking to Casa de Piedra

Trekking from Vacas Valley (2400m) to Pampa de Lenas (2850) 12 km, 4-5 hrs Our first day on the trek to Aconcagua! Hooray we are on our way. Our transfer left at 11am for the Las Vacas trailhead. Thankfully we only had to carry our backpacks while our other bags are being carried by up by mules up to our first camp, Pampa de Lenas. Augusto lead the four of us up the trail nice and slow - I was thrilled with the pace as when slow enough you can literally walk forever and look around. The Vacas Valley is incredibly beautiful - much more...
