I woke up feeling pretty good and looked down from my bunk to Fero, and he started to laugh. I looked like a cabbage patch doll from the sun & wind yesterday. It was burned so badly and it hurt like crazy. I don't know what the issue is with these two guys but we didn't leave camp until 12noon - absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately my patience had run out and Frank received the worst of it! Jan 6, 2007 - Transport to "Los Puquios" Mules. Return to Penitentes Hotel

Fero was up bright and early to take beautiful sunrise photos. Following breakfast our transfer to Penitentes arrived with Augusto, our guide, and two more climbers, Frank & Mark Davidson from Guatemala. Frank now lives in Barcelona. On our relatively short drive 2 hour drive we saw an Argentinian cattle drive with real live gauchos! By 1pm we checked in to the hotel and then had lunch. Jun 27, 2005 - Santiago, Chile

Arrived in a chilly Chile after the worst flight ever. We had bad turbulence after both meals that lasted for about 30 minutes. Loads of people were sick everywhere for the whole journey - it wasn't nice. I survived - just, I never knew why they have sick bags on planes, now I do!!! Anyway, I am a very happy person now because I have arrived on the continent that I was most looking forward to see.
