T and I have been keeping a daily journal of our own through out our trip. We returned to Mendoza to "Hostel Independencia" in the afternoon for a few minutes of rest and recuperation before the evenings festivities were due to start. ... The memory that stands out the most is all 6 of us screaming “Otro! Otro!” (again in Spanish) as the captain once again drove us back into the plummeting water! Mendoza With the reputation of red wine and beef preceding it, we had high expectations arriving in Mendoza. ... Matt Evans would have been devastated if the Malbec was “average” and the beef had been overrated! But fortunately Mendoza not only exceeded its reputation but provided us with hours of laughter, barrels of wine and unforgettable memories. ... Our introduction to wine was at Vines of Mendoza which is an exclusive wine tasting venue in the city. ... We are still investigating who the 6 culprits were! Oct 30, 2009 - Iguazu Falls and Northern Argentina

We arrived in Puerto Iguazu, the town on the Argentinean side of the world-famous Iguazu Falls, a little shell-shocked from the 37 hour bus trip that we’d just survived. When we were literally under the curtain of water there was a moment of fear as we looked back at our captain and he closed his eyes against the spray of the falls only to then push the throttle down further! Screaming and soaking, it must be by far the best water-ride-cum-rollercoaster in the world! Another 36 hour bus trip to the wine region of Mendoza was next where Zack and I would be celebrating our birthdays. ... It has been such fun travelling with him all the way from La Paz in Bolivia to this small town of Mendoza in rustic Argentina. ... Sep 7, 2009 - 15 hours on the bus

Die nächsten paar Tage werden Lisa und ich getrennt verbringen. Sie wollte nach Patagonien und ich nach Mendoza, also haben wir uns kurzerhand getrennt (nein, es gab keinen Streit ;), werden uns aber am Freitag wieder in BA treffen. ... Leider habe ich trotz allem nicht besonders gut geschlafen :( Nachdem wir in Mendoza angekommen sind, bin ich mit den Jungs zu ihrem Hostel gefahren und ein paar Blocks weiter gab es ein HI-Hostel, wo ich dank meiner HI-Card eine Nacht frei hatte, also habe ich dann dort eingecheckt und hatte, wie sich abends herausstellte, mein eigenes privates 6-er dorm mit private bathroom, für mich allein :) Wir sind dann erst einmal in die Stadt gegangen zum Geld wechseln und Mittagessen. ... Danach hat unsere Wine-Tour begonnen, welche wir im Hostel gebucht hatten.Die nächsten paar Tage werden Lisa und ich getrennt verbringen. Lan Chile gets my stamp of approval airline wise. We flew from Mendoza over the Andes to Santiago and changes planes. ... I got an email saying that our next flight has been cancelled a couple of days before we left Mendoza, which I confirmed when I got to the hotel. ... I called Royal Air Moroc, who confirmed that I would be on the next flight which was at the same time the following day.

No photos today, just repacking since we are leaving tomorrow and I want to be organized. Many Argentinians from other parts of the country visit Mendoza, but I mean international visitors. ... Yes, Buenos Aires and other cities do not shut down officially from 1:30 to 5, but Mendoza does- and it has a couple million people I think. ... They eat, nap, play with their kids, or sit in the park and chat with a friend.
