Hotel: Posada del Catalejo. Great house and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Central location. The epañadas are great at the nearby pizza take out restaurant! Puerto Madryn was the starting point for my trip around patagonia...I thought I took somw photos of the city but I can't find them! It is actually a nice seaside town with long wide beaches and in the months of September to November you can see whales right from the beach...sometimes even an Orca!

First things first. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FANEAU!! hope you will read this, it is your birthday today probably wont be when you read this so hope you have a great day and lots of fun!! We are in Puerto Madryn which is North Patagonia. It is the place that the welsh first came to in the late 1800s. It is pretty wierd because next door to our hostel is a shop selling welsh cakes and a big welsh flag painted on the wall! Dec 15, 2004 - Argentina - Puerto Madryn

Found a lovely hostel called Hosteria Torremolinos. Booked three nights for relaxation as we have been having a busy time. Had a stroll around the sleepy town and along the sea front. Weather was amazing with totally blue sky and deep blue sea. Sat and soaked in the sun for a bit, had lunch in a beach restaurant and took it easy. Bumped into a couple we had met earlier, Andy and Libby. They are also from the Watford area and drink in the Compasses (our local pub back in Abbots Langley !).
