In Puerto Madryn wurde uns bei der Ankunft als erstes mitgeteilt, dass in der gesamten Stadt nur noch ein Bett zur Verfügung stünde. Seltsamerweise waren nach einem kurzen Anruf der Touristeninfo zwei weitere gefunden, natürlich viel teurer als wir uns das gedacht hatten, aber es war eine sehr nett Unterkunft. In Puerto Madryn wollten wir eigentlich auch am Strand in der Sonne liegen und ein bisschen chillen nach dem Stress der ersten zwei Wochen, aber dann haben wir uns umentschieden und haben stattdessen eine Fahrradtour nach Punta Loma...

With Antarctic territorial claims now out of my system, we moved on to Trelew and Puerto Madryn in the north of Patagonia. In fact, we stayed at a former sheep estancia in pretty much the middle of nowhere but, at the same time right on the sea, called "El Pedral" (The Pebbles) - a name which accurately described the beach on which it was situated. The estancia was beautiful and had been brought, brick by brick, from Normandy in the 1910s (although they appear to have not bothered with the roof tiles and, like everyone else in Patagonia,...

Hola, We arrived in the sunny port of Puerto Madyrn, feeling somewhat a little jaded after our 24 hour journey, but to clear blue skies and brisk spring sunshine. Due to it's abundance of whales, Puerto Madyrn, which is about halfway down the Argentina east coast, has grown from a sleepy little village into a thriving tourist town of 70 000 peops. After settling in we decided to head down to the beach and watch the sunset. From the edge of the pier we were also able to see a couple of sea lions playing in the water as well as a whale...
