Mar 1, 2013 - Santa Maria

3/1/2013 We continue north on RN40 today ending in Santa Maria. Driving through the small villages reminds us of a time gone by. If I was to live here I would want the motorcycle franchise. There are at least 40 motorcycles for each vehicle. The people are so friendly and the way of life very measured. Siesta is observed by almost everyone, including the fuel stations.

Nov 15, 2012 - Twisty roads and Cafayete gorge

Shory after leaving S.S. de Jujuy the corniche road south over the hills to Salta became narrow and a continuous series of bends. Fortunately there was virtually no traffic in the oncoming direction as the road was very narrow. Cows, pigs and horses all grazed on the verge - seeming uncaring about the passing traffic. We travelled with Charles and Jane, in their SL Mercedes, Gerry and Corrie in the open top Jaguar XK150 and Edmund and Desy in a 911 Porsche. After an hour and a half we arrived in Salta and drove past the monument to the...

Apr 5, 2007 - Tafi del valle

Good Friday we spent in a little village called Tafi Del Valle about 100km northeast of Tucuman. Today every man and his dog was here to see " The Pasion of Christ". The trip was quite spectacular as we climbed 1500 metres to Tafi which lied beneath the snowy peaks of Sierra del Aconquija. At 5 pm we headed out from the town centre to a natural amphitheatre where the play was to involve 100 actors. None of the actors had microphones so they mimed to the pre recorded sound track. It was definately a unique way to watch and listen to a Good...

Feb 24, 2006 - Laguna Verde, Chile

As soon as I can, Im going to put up some of our pictures from Laguna Verde and our incredible day! We got up at 4:30am, and drove out 300km to Laguna Verde (dirt road), and then back to Copiapo by 7:30pm. It was one of the most incredible experiences we've had, and cant wait to share with our friends back at home (pictures and funny stories)! When I get to an internet cafe that can upload the photos, I will sure to do so. Thanks for reading these. Have a good one. Ryan

Feb 27, 2005 - horse riding just outside Salta, Argentina

We did a day horse riding like proper cowboys and ate massive bits of steak for lunch at an asado (barbque) in the woods! scott took to horse riding like a duck to water as you can tell by his faultless technique in the photos. his horse was called gringo as it was ginger and it just did what it wanted, which was usually eating anything in reach.
