Feb 23, 2013 - Buenos Aries, Argentina

Feb. 23, 2013 Buenos Aries, Argentina NOTE: I WON’T POST THESE ENTRIES IN THE JOURNAL FOR A FEW DAYS BECAUSE THE HOTEL WANTS $18 ( NOT PESOS) FOR 24 HOUR ACCESS TO THE INTERNET. After leaving the house on Friday at 8:30 am and with a 3 hour layover in Houston we arrived in Buenos Aires about 10:30 am Saturday. We spent an hour in a very crowded customs line. But the worst was after going through customs, waiting at the airport 1 hour, 45 minutes for other people to arrive before boarding the bus to take us to the hotel. They are going on...

May 21, 2012 - Argentina - Buenos Aires

Stayed in small apartmemt in Recoleta district - very chic and expensive. The cemetry nearby is awesome, saw Evitas tomb. Fascinating to see how much exstravagance - marbel statues all sizes so close together - for when you are not about to appreciate it. An hour north is a town called Tigre on the Rio Panama delta. Very chilled and very much about boat life and living on islands. San Telmo is great. Lots of street artists - very entertaining. Flea market was not to miss. See youtube clip of skeleton puppeteer in BA -the best yet.

Jan 9, 2010 - Trip to South America- Argentina (Santiago Del Estero, Cordoba and Mendoza)

On Jan 10th, we made the trip Lillian had been waiting for. Our flight to Santiago Del Estero, a city in North Argentia, took us two hours. We were greeted at the airport by Natalia, Oscar and Leandro (the apple of Lillian's eyes). We had met them during our trip to Spain & Portugal in 2008. And Leandro had stuck to Lillian the whole time, refusing to go back to his parents!! - Santiago Del Estero is in the pampas.Oscar & Natalia have a huge house there, and apparenlty a couple of large houses that they are renting out. We went for a drive...

Jan 6, 2010 - Trip to South America-Argentina (Buenos Aires)

On 6th January, we took our flight to Buenos Aires, best known as "The Paris of South America". Upon arrival our travel representative met us and escorted us to our hotel. That evening we had a fabulous steak and wine dinner, and admired all the trim Argentinians. It was going to be a very beefy (eating wise)trip, but we didn't know it yet. My Hindu ancestors probably rolled in their cremation yards a few times (or their reborn forms did, wherever they are right now). - The next day morning at breakfast we had our first taste of yerba mate...

May 29, 2008 - Buenos Aires
